I am usually not one for books with who have characters with serious mental health issues. I find many of them don’t do justice to the struggle and pain that these issues bring to the one who is struggling and those who love them. This series really surprised me though. It was well done. I was caught and held by the struggles of both the main character and the supporting cast in this book. Even the villains seemed real and their struggles clear. I loved this book. The characters have believable flaws and strengths that make them engaging. I was really touched by the story. It takes so much skill to weave a tale this close to mythology and have it turn out utterly unique and thought provoking.
