This is book #7, in the Game On In Seattle series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. I recommend reading series in order for reader enjoyment and understanding. This book was surprising. More than I expected was inside. I also felt like the characters were a bit flat at first, but it may have been just me. As the story got on, I found myself rooting for the main couple. Hunter & Kate hate each other nearly from the beginning. We all know that hate is near a fine line. The attraction is there too. Kate is kind of blinded by a one track mind. Hunter seems equally blind for a bit as well. This series is always so much fun. ***This early copy was given in exchange for an honest review.

When four people, three very different backgrounds, two sports all collide in one book which is so intense that you can’t help but become so involved that when you are finally done, you will be exhausted! Hunter McCoy is a man that every woman dreams of meeting - Professional football player, successful Business man, committed to his Native American tribe and customs and has his blind sister living with him just outside of Seattle. Unfortunately his hard headedness and wanting to be in control, especially over his sister, is a problem. He also is still in love with the woman who he believed was perfect for him, a fellow tribe member, so romance is far from his mind. Kate Vanderhof-Carrigan is just like her name sounds = from a well to do blue blooded family that has owned a horse farm for 100 years raising Triple Crown contenders. But this year she is pushing everything she can with the horse she has racing for the Kentucky Derby because if she does not produce a winner, the farm will be sold. Her mother who is very sick will lose everything she has. Kate has a stubbornness in her that will not back down as she has constantly had to prove herself to the men in her life. So when Hunter and Kate meet it is not on the best of terms to say the least. Kate wants something Hunter has immediately and he is not giving it up to anyone or anything. They each have plans and are sticking to them, not backing down at all. Well not until they spend one night together and realize it isn’t sparks between them, it is a fire of passion and it will not burn out anytime soon. Now they just have to take that passion outside the bedroom to their real life and work together. In the background is Hunter’s sister Lilli and teammate Cam. Lilli is trying to prove to her brother that she is more independent than he realizes. She has shown it countless times while on her horse to him, he just has to let her do it outside the barn, especially when a relationship is involved. Cam has known Lilly for years and has always thought of her as a little sister. That is until one night when he takes her on the dance floor and he realizes how special she is, showing him she is the one. Time and time again Jami Davenport has proven she is a skilled author and I must say in all honesty this is one of the best ones of her’s I have read. You hear it from 4 different angels which is very different but yet it isn’t. It touches the heart in so many ways and there are times when you can actually picture what is happening in your mind. This book is a Super Bowl Champion!!

**I received an arc copy of this book for a honest review. This next installment from Jami Davenport is a must read. In this book you really get a two for one. Not only is it the story of Hunter and Kate, but also Cam and Lillie. This is an opposite attract story where they find out they have more in common then they thought. Hunter and Cam are football players and own a race horse together. Kate is from a race horse dynasty. Racing is a business and this is her last chance to save her Grandfathers farm. Hunter believes in listening to his horse and letting him choose when to run. The person who communicates best with Sid is Hunters sister Lillie. Lillie is a writer and horsewoman. Hunter is overprotective of his older sister especially when his team mate Cam starts spending to much time with her. Even though these couples come from different worlds and perspectives, they are made for each other. I enjoyed this installment of the series. Was a bonus getting Lillie and Cam's story. I would recommend this book.

4 1/2 STARS! A new delve into horse racing from one of my favorite sports authors! A really enjoyable read that takes you through the trials and tribulations of falling in love but being in denial about it, and when to let yourself trust that you've truly found "the one". If you are coming to this book expecting your typical football engrossed novel, you will not find it. There's a very moderate amount of football talk or action in this story ... but there is a large presence of horse racing in it. I was slightly thrown when a 2nd hero's perspective started being shown, but I soon caught on with what was going on and went with the flow ... and in the end, the 2nd side story was just as sweet as the first! :) Seattle Steelheads tight end Hunter McCoy has been all about family and football for a long time now, but he has a new passion in his life that he's brought his sister Lilli and a few of his friends and teammates along for the ride on. He's the majority owner in a Derby contender race horse with several of them having part ownership. He's sure they are going to win the Kentucky Derby this year ... but then he meets someone who is sure SHE is going to win! Kate Vanderhof-Carrigan comes from a long line of horse breeding and championship training at her family's Kentucky farm. She has one last chance to save the farm ... and honor her mother's dying wish ... she has to win the Derby this year!! A friendly competition abounds with a good bit of a love hate relationship going on with Hunter and Kate. Will they be able to agree to disagree and find some common ground in the end? And when his sister falls for one of his teammates, will he be able to keep his cool and not lose a friend ... and his sister?

Jami Davenport's Game Changer is book 7 in her NFL Seattle Steelheads football series and if you are a fan of her Seattle Sockeyes hockey series, you'll get to meet up with a few team members and their spouses as well. This is a really great read with two separate relationships, and a horse named Sid. Hunter McCoy is a tight end for the Seattle Steelheads NFL team, the eyes for his blind older sister Lilly, a proud member of the coastal Salish Tribe, and one of 16 neophyte partners in a potential Derby horse with an attitude named Sid. Kate Vanderhof-Carrigan's family farm is a legendary producer of Derby winners and she has one last chance to produce another winner or the Kentucky farm will be sold to developers. Hunter and Kate clash immediately. Not only are they from opposite backgrounds culturally and financially, their attitudes toward training their Derby contenders couldn't be different. Their attraction to each other is explosive - it's a love, hate relationship to the very end. Lilly McKay lets nothing stop her, not even being blind. She is an accomplished horse-woman, best selling writer and has the gift of her elders to know things and see things. Cam is a fellow 'wingman' on the Steelheads with several other team mates from back in their UDub days. Despite the bro-code, he and Lilly develop a great relationship that has Hunter furious and Lilly moving out. I'm giving the book 4.5 stars simply because I was looking for more football, but that's just me. An ARC copy of Game Changer was provided by the author for an honest review, but I've pre-ordered my own copy.s

I loved this story! I mean I always love Jami's books but I was just a little concerned about this one at first because it was told in multiple POVs and it seemed like it was mainly about two people who really didn't seem to like each other at all. Well, I was wrong to ever have doubted her. I absolutely loved the multiple POVs as they added so much depth to this story which was just wonderful. I was also very pleasantly surprised that this book was about so much more than just Hunter & Kate's relationship, although that is a really good story too. There is so much more to both of these characters than meets the eye. Hunter & Kate are some extremely well developed characters. As always this author's attention to detail is astounding and brings her books to life. It appears at first that they are so opposite that they would never make it as a couple. They are both so passionate and stubborn. Well, you know what they say about opposites. These two have some serious physical chemistry and when they give into that, they just sizzle. I mean their passion is hot!! They start what they think will just be a fling but it turns into so much more. After a while, they do find that they really like and respect each other and find enough common ground between them to sustain a relationship beyond sex. Hunter's pride in his Native American heritage makes him even more lovable. It has shaped the man he is today. I love how Kate wants to learn all about it and help make their lives better. Kate is not the spoiled rich girl Hunter thought she was. Her back story shows there is so much more than meets the eye with her. Hunter also has an amazing way with horses especially his horse Sid that he owns with some of his teammates. The horse racing was also very vividly described and I found myself cheering Sid on instead of Kate's horse Jet. Hunter is some sort of horse whisperer and so is his sister Lilli. They both talk to Sid and claim that he tells them how he feels. The way they treat this horse warms my heart. It's all pretty cool. I love Lilli. She is an amazingly strong woman who also happens to be blind. She does not let that stop her at all. I really enjoyed the love story that emerged between Lilli and Hunter's best friend and teammate Cameron. During the scenes where they are dancing, it was amazing how I could see them. Another wonderful 5 star read in the Game On in Seattle series.

As a fan of Jami Davenport's she didn't disappoint with this work of art. I feel like I got two for one with this book. It's the story of Cameron and Lilli and Hunter and Kate. I love that she writes about different scenarios with different backgrounds and brings them together to mesh as one. Cameron's from a rich African American background, Kate is a socialite family outcast , Hunter and Lilli are Native Americans. I loved learning some of the cultural history that came from these characters. Not only did this book give me two love story's it combined two sports, football and horse racing. Again two for one. Well put together for a warm fuzzy, exciting romance. Recommend this book as well as the others in this series.
