Description

A STANDALONE NOVEL that does NOT need to be read in conjunction with any other book.

From New York Times bestselling author, Penelope Ward, comes a friends-to-lovers story with sexy new characters.

After getting dumped, the last thing I needed was to move next door to someone who reminded me of my ex-boyfriend, Elec.

Damien was a hotter version of my ex.

The neighbor I’d dubbed “Angry Artist” also had two massive dogs that kept me up with their barking.

He wanted nothing to do with me. Or so I thought until one night I heard laughter coming through an apparent hole in my bedroom wall.

Damien had been listening to all of my phone sessions with my therapist.

The sexy artist next door now knew all of my deepest secrets and insecurities.

We got to talking.

He set me straight with tips to get over my breakup.

He became a good friend, but Damien made it clear that he couldn’t be anything more.

Problem was, I was falling hard for him anyway. And as much as he pushed me away, I knew he felt the same…because his heartbeat didn’t lie.

I thought my heart had been broken by Elec, but it was alive and beating harder than ever for Damien.

I just hoped he wouldn’t shatter it for good.

Author's note – Neighbor Dearest is a full-length standalone novel. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

This was not as good as dearest stepbrother. Not bad, just too predictable and too fake in some parts. Also was hard to hear them talk of Greta and Elec without being annoyed haha guess I liked their characters better. Overall an ok read.

This is a definite emotional roller coaster. The first half of the book my heart ached for Chelsea. I almost didn't finish the book because so much time had passed that I couldn't fathom the HEA. Damien is so adamant against a relationship. But, of course I continued on and when it is revealed why Damien is not committing to Chelsea my heart cracked. I did not see that coming. The rest of the book continues on the roller coaster as Damien and Chelsea work through their ups and downs. I held my breath for several chapters until the HEA.

I didn’t think I would ever like a book as much as I liked Stepbrother Dearest, but here it is. I love how Penelope starts a romance and fully finishes it with an idea of the rest of their lives. It made me cry many times and I look forward to another book of hers.

Not one of my favorite stories from Penelope Ward, but still a pretty good read. I read in two sittings and wasn’t disappointed by the emotional connection between the main characters. There were a few things that struck me as unrealistic, and at times the author takes a bit of a religious tone, hence the 3/5. I’m looking forward to the author’s new release later this month!

"God made you for me."  Just let those words resonate. That's really the whole meaning of this wild romance. Chelsea (Elec's Ex) hasn't had it easy. After losing her love to his stepsister. She's lost, even chooses therapy to get through. But what she didn't expect was Damien to appear out of nowhere. And the DD's who become a huge part of her life. When one loses love, they tend to be on the fence of every experiencing it again. Damien and Chelsea go through so much through this story. It does span over a few years. It's not rushed, it's not an insta-romance on the spot. It builds, the character development is on another level. You somehow connect to these two souls on a deeper level. Ward, just creates these stories. Their like little packages, given to the reader. To enjoy and be immersed in their world.  I was listening with anticipation. Wondering what was going to be around the corner with these two. It's just as steamy as the first in this series. And Damien is such a horn dog. And well Chelsea isn't far off. What else I like about how Ward writes these books. You don't get a glimpse into the male character, till the very end. It keeps the mystery there and you're in the same boat as the main POV.  The narration was great and I loved the voice she gave all the characters, throughout this story. Overall, I give this Five Boundless Stars. It's a wonderful story of blind faith and the love that lies right in the forefront.
