Description

With a thirst for adventure and a new life, Katie Matthews heads west to Marietta, Montana to reconcile with her estranged sister and prove she’s matured. But during her journey, her stagecoach is robbed leaving her destitute and on foot and later framed for theft, which lands her in jail. Not the ideal beginning to prove she’s turned over a new leaf.

Scott Taylor hitches horse and wagon to rescue his partner’s sister-in-law from jail. But what he’s not prepared for is the force of attraction towards this beautiful, fiery woman. When a hard rain sends them ducking for cover, his usual steadfastness is no match for Katie’s charm and their mutual passion.  Determined to make an honest woman of her, Scott insists they marry.

Scott’s devoted his life to being a strong, responsible, hard working cowboy who does the right thing no matter how tough, but when he comes face to face with his ugly past, he fears he’ll lose what he’s just discovered he can’t live without.

A good story. Although not the worst I’ve seen, it would have been better with a competent proofreader.

Scott and Katie had me laughing and worrying for them at the same time. I enjoyed Katie's spirit and how she her perception was so different from her sister's on her ride out west.... The trail ride was quite an experience. Scott personality was a bit shocking to people/town, which was a bit odd, but I really enjoyed how Michelle brought them together as a family with her sister Jillian and Wade. It will be interesting to see where this series continues to grow. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

A Cowboy's Temptation by Michelle Beattie is book number two in a Frontier Montana series . This is Katie Matthews and Scott Taylor's story. This story takes place during 1884 in the Montana territory. Katie is brave and sets out on a journey to Marietta. She experiences a lot of setbacks and struggles along the way. I admired her mental strength and how she was able to cope. Scott has devoted his life to doing the right thing. He is afraid that he will lose everything that he has worked for if his brutal childhood is discovered. Can Scott overcome this pain? Katie and Scott end up together on this journey to Marietta. There is chemistry between and they develop feelings for each other. Will Scott realize that he deserves a good wife or will he allow his painful past to prevent him from taking a chance at true love? FYI, contains mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This was a great historical romance. I loved the story, the characters, the setting, it was all wonderful. Katie is traveling from Pennsylvania to Montana to be with her sister, Jillian. She is determined to prove herself and repair their sisterly relationship. Scott co-owns a ranch with Jillian's husband, and is hiding from his a past that not even his closest friends know. But when sparks fly betweeh Katie and Scott, drama flies right along with it. I loved Katie's strength and courage. I loved the jokes and camaraderie between Scott and the other guys. I really enjoyed reading about frontier Montana. It was like I was right there in the story with them.
