Description

Brenna Jamison doesn’t want a husband. She may be widowed and pregnant, but she doesn’t need a man in her life–particularly not strong-willed, close-mouthed, drop-dead gorgeous Jed McCall.

Jed doesn’t want a wife. He’s raising his nephew, Tuck, just fine by himself, thank you very much. And when beautiful, tempting Brenna comes back to take over her father’s ranch, Jed wants nothing more than to keep her out of his life.

Tuck has a better idea… But he doesn’t know about the past they share–one that Jed doesn’t want to remember and Brenna can’t forget. When life throws them together again, Brenna discovers that Jed matters more than she wishes he would. And try as he will, Jed can’t get Brenna out of his mind.

Yes, they have a past. But the question now is: can they have a future?

Wow, not sure it was cowboy pride or foolish man behavior on Jeb’s part. So hard headed! Thank goodness for Brenna’s patience and her willingness to see it through. Nice HEA!

I really enjoyed this story. Jed and Brenna had been sweethearts 11 years ago, until Jed just left her with no explanation. Now Brenna is back a pregnant widow trying to help her father's ranch while he recovers from a stroke. Jed is fighting to retain custody of his nephew, and although he is a very good and caring person, he's not the most conventional parent. The solution to both of their problems - a marriage of convenience. I loved Jed, Brenna, Tucker, and Otis (Brenna's dad). They were all very real and likable characters. The storyline was great as well.

Pride and embarrassment can lead to disasterous results added in with a little deception. Brenna and Jed fell in love when they were young. Jed worked on the ranch and Breanna was the ranch owner's daughter. They were trying to do the right thing and wait for marriage. Brenna's evil step sister caused havoc on their relationships... she tempted Jed and than let Brenna to believe something happened... Jed to embarrassed by what he did hides in embarrassment and Brenna is lead to believe he doesn't love her anymore.... Their love runs deep and I enjoyed reading how it was woven together and reminded me of a patchwork quilt and all the pieces being pulled together make a spectacular picture. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

An excellent second chance story. Jed McCall is happily living life single and free. Then he finds himself raising his nephew on his own and having all sorts of problems with the stay child services people. Brenna Jamison returns to her childhood home to take over running the ranch for her father, she knows staying away from Jed is the best idea. He's working on the ranch though and when Tuck, Jed's nephew comes up with a plan to get his uncle and Brenna together they don't have a chance. Recommended read!

I will tell you that I liked this story. I will also say that it went straight to my heart. I felt for Jed. He has custody of his nephew since his sister died. Now he is having trouble to keep Tuck. Brenna has come home as her dad had a stroke. She is a famous painter. She has told Tuck that she will help him with his drawing. Be careful when Jed and Brenna come back together now. They try to stay away as he left her for good. They stay in love but won't admit it. She is pregnant as she married a sculptor. He finds out he has a fatal disease. He took care of her. Now Jed is jealous. Tuck has a way to keep them together. Give this book a chance. Keep tissues close. You may need to walk away. I recommend this story to everyone. I hope you will enjoy this story! I volunteered to read and review this book.
