  • When Distractions become second chances

Club Destiny was one of the first series I read when my book addiction started a few years ago. I was hooked from Conviction! And when this series started integrating with the Walker Brothers I was done! Nicole had quickly become one of my favorites! Anyway...what better way to end this series than with a love story so sweet, so honest & so freaking HOT!!! Dylan & Sarah were high school sweethearts, each with a past of lost love that hardens their hearts & causes them to put up walls, who find their way back to each other for a Distraction that is destined to be forever. With it's plot twists & unexpected characters (one in particular), this story made me laugh & cry & got my husband REALLY lucky!! Toss in another sex club & BAM, let the sparks fly. I can't wait to see where Nicole goes with the next series. I know she'll have some hot characters that will knock your socks off!

Distraction is the final book in Nicole Edwards Club Destiny series. It’s bittersweet for me because the first book I ever read of hers was Conviction, book one in the series. Such a good ending to the series! This is the story of Dylan and Sarah and I admit I was worried about this book because we all know how Dylan has struggled with depression and alcoholism. I should’ve know better because Ms. Edwards has written antoher wonderful story and will take you on an emotional ride while dealing with depression, alcoholism, death, guilt, and ever fear, but also forgiveness and love. This story was a long time coming and so worth the wait.
  • An Emotional Journey in an Amazing Series with Hints of What is to Come Next

Distraction, Club Destiny’s final chapter, is a bit of a different journey than the rest of the series, but that is not a bad thing. Nicole Edwards’s note to her readers in the beginning of the book sets the tone of what to expect, and for me, I paid deeper attention so I could try and understand the issues as told by someone who has experienced depression first hand. Dylan and Sarah have known each other since high school, but they each ended up with different people to share their lives with, or so they thought, but forever was not to be. It took me a little bit to get into the story. It starts with laying out how Dylan and Sarah are affected by depression, at least you are given the beginnings of how it affects them, and then moves forward three years to what happens next. I love this series and for the most part, the books are more upbeat, but don’t let that make you hesitate to add this emotional and complex book to your reading list. There are the characters from previous books we have come to love, hot sex and club experiences, but there is more in this one. Not every relationship is perfect, nor starts out in a storybook way. You get a more real, gritty experience with two people who are aware of their problems, differences, desires, and hope, to overcome their problems one day at a time. I loved how Sarah realized that to move forward with her life, she had to change herself and that she had the courage to do just that. I appreciated how both Sarah and Dylan kept trying to work things out because they wanted something they didn’t have, even if they weren’t sure how to get it. I found it moving to see how their support system did what ever they could to help them overcome their challenges. Add to all that, a hot experience with Nate and Jake at the club, a hint of what is coming with Trent in a new series, and you have a book you should not miss. Nicole Edwards books are on my “must buy” list and this one is no exception.

Distraction is the much anticipated final book in the Club Destiny series. While this is the eighth book in the series it can be read as a complete stand alone, but this is literally one of the best erotic romance series out there and I can't recommend it enough. Please be aware this book does contain some steamy sex of the ménage variety (female with multiple male partners). Sarah Fulton has known heartache and loss after becoming a widow unexpectedly. While practically raising her nephew - Jake - and merely existing worked for a short while she knew she needed a change. So Sarah reinvented herself and shed all the reminders of her previous life in a dramatic transformation. Six years after her husband died and three years after her makeover she accompanies her nephew to his work function and runs into the one man that has always gotten under her skin - Dylan. Sarah quickly notices she isn't the only one who went through some changes and appreciates how well Dylan seems to be... Dylan Thomas lost his wife to cancer eleven years ago and checked out on his friends and family shortly thereafter. While he was always there for his children he made some bad choices in regards to other areas in life. Dylan decides enough is enough and slowly starts putting his life back together. Three years have gone by since the last time he was in a room with Sarah and he quickly realizes she still affects him on a visceral level even kick starting feelings he hasn't had in years. This book was a bit different from the other Club Destiny books in that they spent little time actually in the club. This was more a story of life & love and how two broken souls find their way back to each other after overcoming the obstacles that stood in their way. While there is still plenty of steamy romance the anxiety and depression that both the H/h have suffered from is featured just as prominently. Overall this series will always be one of my favorites and with the author's spin-off series already in the works I can't wait to see what happens next!
