I have read about 10 Box books. He has written about 3 different stories in this. Not any one is worth reading. Box should be ashamed of himself for this endeavor ! He never was great but this was an abomination.

Dialogue that reads like a high school student wrote it... a real torture to stick with it. I've enjoyed most C.J Box books, but this one seems like it was ghost written by an inexperienced writer.

Great book. Could not put it down. Love the setting of Montana and Yellowstone. I have enjoyed all the books in the Joe Pickett series and the 2 other books from this series. Highly recommend for anyone who likes the West and a story about a chase for justice.

I was looking forward to Paradise Valley and was not disappointed. Great, well written and entertaining. The storyline is intriguing and actually feels plausible. The characters come across as real. I could not put the book down.

CJ managed to carry forth a character in Ron who was evil to the bone, without becoming unbelievable. He also made Cassie a believable woman of strength, surrounding her with other strong women. The men were support for Cassie; not as protection. The story carried on at a fluid clip until the end when it ended very anti-climatically. I would have expected Ron's demise to have more drama and dialogue with those who ensured his reign of terror was over.

This should come with a warning...stock snacks and fluids nearby and plan to read cover to cover. It is well worth lost sleep.
