Dirty Little Promise

Book 1 and Book 2 had such a fire to them. I am going to be honest I knew which brother was going to win out from the beginning of Book 1, but wow. I really want more Gavin and Emma.. there could definitely be another book on them.

I actually skipped large sections of this book as it did not hold my interest. Characters were in no way believeable, and only somewhat interesting.

After completing this & Dirty Little Secrets, I was disappointed. Too many storylines not completed. The mystery could have been awesome, but it the solution was clipped & rather unnecessary. There are few traditional romance novels that offer interesting, strong women characters. Unfortunately this doesn’t come close. The women in these novels are rather pathetic. Written in such a way that tainted the story.

Angst filled drama with a boat load of steaminess! When we left off from the first book in the Forbidden Desires series, we were left with a shocking cliffhanger. This book picks up shortly after and deals with the aftermath. I wanted a little more from the book personally and felt like it was a bit of a let down after the first. I still enjoy the characters ... but the plot could have been spiced up a bit to match the first book. Still an enjoyable group of people though, and I'm looking forwarding to what the future holds! I recommend reading this series in order or you will miss some key points along the way. Conflicted librarian Emma Bell can't decide what to do. Does she say the secrets she's discovered about Gavin Kingsley don't matter to her, or does she turn her back on his bad boy hotness and say that nice guy Cooper is more her style? Gavin pushes her hot buttons like no other, but will giving in to her carnal desires only lead to heartache in the end?

Giving him another chance won’t be easy, but her heart won’t let her walk away without a fight. Gavin bares his soul to Emma…the good, the bad, and the truly ugly…and prays that she won’t run away screaming when she learns the truth. So, we thought that we knew what happened at the end of DIRTY LITTLE SECRET, didn't we, friends? Ms. Kendall Ryan dropped a bomb, then left us hanging, just sure that we knew what was what with that sexy but no-good alpha Gavin Kingsley. Now, along comes the explanation in DIRTY LITTLE PROMISE, and we're left loving Gavin more than we did before. Is he bossy? Yes. Can he be distant? Yes. Is he still one of the sexiest alpha guys with more heart than we knew to come along? Yes, yes, yes. And then there's Cooper and Quinn, the other Kingsley brothers. What's a girl to do? DIRTY LITTLE PROMISE picks right back up where DLS ended, taking us along for the ride as Emma discovers who truly holds her heart. There's suspense, passion, and angst aplenty, making this just the kind of book that I like to read, and, yes, priming the pump, as it were, for more Kingsley brothers adventures in the future. DIRTY LITTLE PROMISE is another 4.5 star read for me. Engaging, entertaining, and seriously steamy, Kendall has done a great job of carrying the story through to this book. The twists and turns that happen along the way keep things interesting, and just make for a more satisfying ending, and the characters continue to delight (who knew Little Miss Emma could bring a Kinglsey to his knees?!). A definite must-read for Kendall's fans, and anyone looking for some sizzle and pop, DLP is a keeper.

I loved this book!!! The drama, the suspense, just about everything. Seeing Gavin soften up a bit, but still he the sexy dom he is, was awesome! Emma. I'm not sure how I feel about her. I spent half the time wanting to throats punch her, and the other half wanting to make her my bestie. My heart completely broke for Cooper, and seeing the pain he went through (which was kinda his own fault....) A great read that I would definitely recommend!!!

4 Stars! Kendall Ryan brings us back to the world of Forbidden Desires with the conclusion of Gavin and Emma's story. Picking up shortly after book one left off, Gavin and Emma are on the outs. Gavin's secrets and his past come back to haunt him and threaten his relationship with Emma that is already hanging on by a thread. Emma, however, is determined to show Gavin that she is what he needs. Plus, there is the little complication of Gavin's younger brother, Cooper, that still looms large over them. I was thrilled to get more of Quinn. He is a mystery, but you can't help be feel for him. Cooper will tug at your heart so hard! The book is about Emma and Gavin and their relationship. I am still not a fan of the D/s aspect of this story. I get that Gavin is dominant and alpha, but while the D/s thing was kind of a shocker in book one, in this book the D/s thing is still present and while it plays to the story, at times it seemed almost unnecessary. The real story is Gavin and his evolution. The conclusion to Emma and Gavin's story is beautifully written and emotional with a bit of suspense and a sweet, HEA for our beautiful couple. Another Kendall Ryan must read!!
