Hard to Hold, the first of two books in the Caine Cousin series, centers around Wolfe and his cousin Lynx Caine, cousins of the Walker’s in a story of their own. The story takes place in the small town of Ember Ridge where everyone knows everyone else and their business. A new comer like Amy does not go unnoticed by the cousins. Wolfe seems to pay special attention to Amy which is fine with her since he certainly catches her attention as well. There is another man who notices Amy, Sheriff Rhys Trevino, but Amy has a secret and isn’t sure she wants to be noticed by the Sheriff. Amy works at Reagan’s, a bar owned by Rhy’s sister, so she can’t avoid him, but Rhy can tell she has a secret and he wants to know what that is. Amy isn’t the only person to catch his attention, but will he be able to make both of them notice him the way he wants to be noticed and can the three of them work things out to be together? Well, you will have to read the book to find out. I’m glad I did, but the story does end in a bit of a cliffhanger and that makes me a little crazy. Some of the story is wrapped up, but other parts are just getting started. And what about Lynx you may ask, well, he will be addressed in the sequel, Hard to Handle, coming out in July. I can’t wait to read that one too.

Amy works at the local bar and a diner. She's sweet, beautiful, and easily spooked. Wolfe builds furniture with his cousin. Sexy, protective and looks good in jeans. Rhys is the county sheriff, good looking and wants both Amy and Wolfe. When Amy's past returns she must choose to keep hiding or stand up for herself along with most of the town. Ok I don't know what to write because I don't want to give anything away. Lets just say lots of sex, mm, mf, mfm. Get ready to have your fingers scorched! The Caines are cousins of the walker brothers. We start out meeting Wolfe and Lynx. These two are trouble with a capital T. They are also cousins and do everything together and sometimes share women. When they would go to the diner or the bar after work, Wolfe notices a pretty new girl named Amy. For some reason he wanted to know her better. Rhys who is the sheriff of their town follows shortly behind them. He notices Amy right away and wonders what her story is. Wolfe hasn't been with a man in a long time but can't stop thinking about the sheriff. Wolfe eventually talks Amy into being their secretary at their woodworking shop. Eventually, Wolfe gets her to the point where she trusts him and she finally begins to tell her story. The sheriff and Wolfe have already been together because the moment was too strong. The two of them finally get Amy by herself and just want to make need her feel good. They work on her a little at a time!! . This story has all the feels but does have a cliffy!! I wasn't too pleased to see it!! All in all this story is so good, I couldn't put it down. The ménage comes later in the book than usual because of Amy's past. Amy's past does come back to haunt her just like in her nightmares!! Being with Wolf and Rhys does help them though because she finally feels safe. Just like all of Nicole's books, I would recommend This book anybody. It does have some triggers which Nicole covers in the very beginning. If you like ménage this is definitely one you need to read!
