I absolutely loved how accessible this book is. The authors provide background and key terms to help someone new to activism to jump right in I feel that this would be a great read for both people who want to get more involved in issues in their neighborhood. It’s also a great refresher course for someone who is putting their activist hat back on.

As a self-professed former armchair activist, I was excited to read Road Map for Revolutionaries, hoping for an idea to propel me out of my comfy chair to add my voice to the millions who now find themselves activated to save our democracy. The authors, Elisa Camahort Page, Carolyn Gerin, and Jamia Wilson did not disappoint. Each chapter begins with terminology and concepts before detailing the ins-and-outs of activism in its myriad forms, from staying safe while participating in marches to knowing your rights and securing your social media footprint to spending (or not) your dollars to make an impact. But wait – there’s more! There’s in-depth, practical advice on how to fund raise for grass roots initiatives, get involved in politics on a local level and beyond, to help reform the media, and influence decisions around health care and reproductive rights.
