Roman continued to keep huge secrets from Rourke both in his business dealings and his past “relationships”. This dark romance was filled with suspenseful and lusty scenes as they start their married life full of hope and love. Roman was not prepared to disclose his past and present dealings with Rourke. My heart ached for Rourke as she tried to navigate in Roman’s powerful and secretive world. I hated the way Rourke had to work with Lavender. The fact that she shared a “special” relationship with Roman in the past and had known him for at least eight years was bad enough, but Rourke was blindsided by the information while having a meeting with Lavender. Ugh. The saving grace in this dark romance was Roman and his seemingly intense obsessive love for Rourke. His focus and love for her never seemed to waver, but his dishonesty, avoidance, and secretive behaviors put Rourke at a disadvantage. This was another fast paced, page turning read, filled with dark romantic scenes within a compelling storyline. Huge Cliffy at the end, and am wanting a conclusion to their story!! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
