I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This was a charming read. I was enchanted right from the beginning. Caleb and Audrey are two wonderful characters with basically the same issue that prevents them from entering into a relationship. While they work together to save some ill horses and solve a crime, they fall in love. These characters go through a very intense couple of days that help to push these two together. But is it enough to last a lifetime? You will have to read for yourself. This story has all the highs and lows of a great book. The roller-coaster ride that you go through is definitely worth it. You also get to see characters from prior books of this series. I so hope that a few secondary characters get their stories as well. This story is written in my favorite dual POV. Being able to read the characters' POV really gives a better understanding of their actions and why they say the things that they do. While this story is a part of a series, you don't necessarily need to read the other stories to thoroughly enjoy this one.

This was a very good book and I’m hoping this is not the end of the series. I’d like to see the other guys get there HEA. Caleb Harper is happy that his siblings have found love but it’s not for him and I never will be. He’s never gotten passed his mothers abandonedment so one night stands is just right for him. Audrey Martinez has one goal, her thriving veterinarian practice and the horses she she chosen to specialize in. She has no time for a true relationship so love them then push them away in the end. Anyways she’ll never find the kind of true love her parents had. When the local horse auction house has sick horses the owner calls Audrey in to help find out why. Thinking the worst that the horses were poisened the owner calls in friends to help with security, Clayton West and the Harper brothers. Caleb and Audrey’s attraction is instant and chemistry off the charts but there was a job to do and horses to save. So ignoring their feelings was the way to go, neither wanted a relationship. When dangerous and deadly things start to happen Caleb vows to protect Audrey even if that means Audrey being the first woman he’s ever taken to his ranch. Now to keep their hands to themselves when all they want is the opposite. When they finally come together it’s the best thing that’s ever happened but their insecurities just might end up ruining a love of a lifetime. I highly recommend this series, I need to go back and read Abby and Clayton’s book, I read book 2 (Brice and Naiome) and liked that book also.
  • Great suspense!

Caleb has been deeply affected by his mother leaving them when he was just a kid. He's spent his years opening up a new ranch with his older brother, training horses and having meaningless one night stands. Audrey has been just as affected by her mother's passing and her father's disappearance. She's one of the best equine vets and her little sister works with her. She is just as bad as Caleb when it comes to meaningless one night stands. These two get brought together when some horses at an auction house suddenly turn ill. It's apparent that someone has poisoned the animals and they are racing to find out what the poison is, who is doing it and who is the target behind these actions. Great suspense, returning side characters and a pretty hot attraction between the main characters. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was their fear of commitment getting in the way. I did like how they ultimately got back together. I would love to see a book on the sister. She's a spitfire!
