  • The Rebel

    3
    By Crazy not lazy
I will give it 3 1/2 stars. It was interesting , it kept my attention, but I was able to put it down a couple of times. The characters were good and uncomplicated.
  • Family Legacy

    5
    By Agent$$$$
After yet another fight with his father Mad Max Rockwell, Kai decides to leave Rocky Peak Lodge. At 17yrs old, Kai embarks on an adventure of his own becoming a rescue paramedic taking various assignments all over the US never forgetting the Cascades. Although he has kept in touch with his family, he hasn't been back to the Lodge since that fateful argument that drove him away. Until his dad's health issues threaten his family's legacy. Nicole would and has done practically everything to ensure her sister is taken care of, but being a nurse's aide barely covers the bills. When her sister gets placed in a private room, after an argument with her roommate, Nicole doesn't know where she's going to come up with the extra money. When her best friend figures out Nicole's new client is Max Rockwell, she offers Nicole a side job with all the perks. Nicole is supposed to spy on the Rockwells so that her best friend has the upper hand when making an offer to purchase the Lodge. If her friend lands this deal, she makes partner. Win, win. Until Nicole meets Kai... Wow, just wow!!! What a way to start a new series! I've read practically every novel Jennifer Bernard has written and I think this one is her best yet! Kai is untrusting by nature. Nicole can't tell a lie without blushing. The combination provides a combustible couple. Their chemistry is undeniable. Nicole feels as though she's being blackmailed by her best friend and absolutely hates lying to the Rockwells who have become a family to her. Kai realizes the destruction secrets can cause. He also realizes true love doesn't come around every day, but is he too late? Love this story and can't wait to see how the rest of the series unfolds. I received a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
