Love how this author writes. However this one was a little lengthy in parts and found myself skipping some pages when it got a little wordy. However I have enjoyed watching Will and Sara’s relationship unfold. And with a son with dyslexia as well it’s encouraging seeing a character thrive in the world. I tell my son all the time he can still do anything. So this character gives me hope regardless that it’s a story. Couldn’t put this book down. Read it in 2 days.

It was a great book that is hard to put down. The hate groups life and and poor education was very meaningful at this time we are now going through.

I found it hard to believe this was a Slaughter book. I’m a huge fan and have read nearly every book she’s written. In my opinion, it was a total waste of my time. Sadly, I ended up skimming through the last several pages. And I was glad I did.
  • Although different, certainly a favorite!

I have literally read every book by Karin slaughter, and this one did not disappoint! The writing style was different, yes... but, I actually liked the way she wrote different points of view from each of the characters! Good job k.s! Can’t wait for the next Sara and will story!
  • Disappointing

As an avid fan, this book was disappointment and a disservice to the readers. The author cared more about delivering a message than writing a good story about the characters we have come to love. Not subtle and sloppy. Will deserved better and so did the readers.

The story is not well done. Very disappointing effort compared to previous books. The story did not make sense, as the kidnapping was not believable.

Best of all! Combination of Linton and Trent storylines had me turning pages faster than ever. As a surgeon I found the medical details to be spot on. Just terrific -ran the gamut of emotions from fear to thrill to sadness to longing to relief to pure joy.

Not her usual writing style. She rehashes parts of the story in different characters points of view, so you reread parts you already know about. Not a fan of this. Good book though. Love these characters.
