Description

Can a spirited, down-to-earth influencer get an uptight hockey player out of his shell?

Josh
I am a warrior. That’s been my motto since I recovered from a near-death accident when I was younger. Now I enjoy my nice, settled life in Dallas playing pro hockey—a boring life is better than being dead. I’m not a party guy or an adventurer; I like my routine and peace and quiet. So being traded to New York is the worst possible change that could happen. And meeting unfiltered and fascinating Sara Carrington throws my life into even more chaos.

Sara
I’ve been considered weird my whole life, which is why I’m still a virgin, but I’ve turned it into a career with my YouTube videos. Who knew people would love watching me talk about my zits, taste-test meatless burgers, and try to learn TikTok dances! Now I’m launching a podcast. Getting hockey star Josh Heller as a guest will help gain listeners for sure. I expect a bearded jock with no teeth and nothing to say, but I get a hot as H-E-double-hockey-sticks grouch with a surprisingly dirty mind. My mission to make him laugh is successful, but I want to know why he’s so uptight underneath that panty-dropping smile. Maybe I can teach Josh to have some fun . . . and maybe he can teach me a thing or two along the way. . . .

Josh, a professional athlete that has had his share of tragedy. However, he never has addressed the demons, instead has put everything into a box where life must be status quo all the time. He gets traded to a new team and that’s where his life starts to change. Because he is new in a city and a professional athlete the team has him doing things he would not normally do. Enter Sarah, who runs a influencer mega business. Sarah is real and has her share of issues. For whatever reason they hit it off, and they are very different. This is such a great book. Do not miss reading it.

This is book 2 in the Bears Hockey series and it features Josh and Sara. While I loved their story, it took me a minute to really feel the attraction of these two in a relationship. Josh is a little stuffy and likes everything planned. He’s very structured. Sarah is very spontaneous and loves to have fun.  Their extremely different personalities made for an interesting and fiery HOT  relationship. The one thing I ABSOLUTELY LOVED in this book was Josh’s “roses are red” poems. They were hilariously epic!

Sexy and entertaining with these like-able and endearing characters, I had a hard time putting this down. I laughed, I cried, and rooted for these two opposites. Captivated from the first page to the last I loved this heartwarming romance. Josh and Sara are incredibly sweet together and I loved their chemistry. These two trying to figure each other out in the beginning is adorable. I was expecting this player of a man but who I got was incredibly closed off, due to a traumatic event in his youth. I loved his character development and his growth throughout the story. Watching his struggle was so endearing as his feelings for Sara developed. I liked Sara a lot she seemed to be very perceptive to his needs and was so forgiving and so real. I loved this story of healing and opening their heart and letting love in. It was totally enjoyable, a fun and sexy read. Kelly Jamieson knows how to write sexy hockey sport romance that simply charms. Wonderful heroines. Lickable heroes. And romance that makes a girl swoon.

I've never read a book with a character that is a Vlogger, and I really like it. I don't follow any Vlogger's myself but now I want to find one just like Sara. She was super fun, down to earth and wasn't afraid to come off weird. She knew she was weird and she owned it. Actually, I think she was harder on herself the she should have been. Instead of weird, she really just seemed fun and popular. Josh was a tougher character. He was super rigid with planning everything and freaked when spontaneity happened. When you learn about his background, you get why he is the way that he is, but he had another side to him that still made him a delicious hero. He had no issues letting go when it came to the sexy times. I'm really enjoying this series and I'm looking forward to the next one.

The more that I read Kelly Jamieson, the more that I like her books and her writing! I loved Sara, loved her spontaneity and the way she handles everything in her life, good and bad. Josh, on the other hand, needed structure and didn’t like things to change without a lot of thought and planning. Or so he thought. Sara and Josh were good together and balanced each other out. Sara helped Josh deal with things that he thought didn’t bother him anymore and Josh helped Sara believe in herself and her instincts. Can’t wait for more!
