Although her story is painful at times to read, the author never presents herself as a “victim” but instead works tirelessly to find a way out of her struggles. It was a true privilege to experience her journey.

Laughs, cries, this book has it all… it should be required reading for any person who survived an 80s childhood.

Very well written, but the substance did not live up to the description that induced me to purchase it. Another whole book could be written about things that were vaguely referred to in the book, and perhaps that is the goal. As a survivor, I was expecting to read more of life experiences that got her from “there” to “here.”
