Description

The multimillion-copy New York Times bestselling author B.A. Paris returns to her heartland of gripping psychological suspense in The Therapist—a powerful tale of a house that holds a shocking secret.

When Alice and Leo move into a newly renovated house in The Circle, a gated community of exclusive houses, it is everything they’ve dreamed of. But appearances can be deceptive

As Alice is getting to know her neighbours, she discovers a devastating secret about her new home, and begins to feel a strong connection with Nina, the therapist who lived there before.

Alice becomes obsessed with trying to piece together what happened two years before. But no one wants to talk about it. Her neighbors are keeping secrets and things are not as perfect as they seem

Another page turner by this author. The main character was totally unhinged, but that was part of the story!! Love this author’s writing style. Nevreader
  • Promising plot, uninspired characters

I enjoyed the premise of the closed circle and the lurking evil. Alice’s motivations and reasoning were not as finely tuned as they might have been. Alice might have gotten to know her neighbors a little better before she went full throttle with her suspicions. The ending was satisfying - more true to life and she was far more likable.

I read the reviews for this book after I read it and honestly I thought it was great! I finished it in 2 days and I can’t wait to read the author’s next book out this winter. If you like thrillers, I would definitely suggest this.

Great book! I could not put this book down from the moment I started the first page. Great murder mystery with a plot twist.

Intriguing plot idea and entertaining but too unrealistic as the book develops. We’d have assume a brain dead Scotland Yard in London. The characters are thin stereotypes. No closed circuit cameras in London?

It wasn’t too bad, definitely not the best.
  • Take a hard pass.

Save your money and pass on this one. It’s boring, repetitive, there are pages and pages and pages of the main character asking herself rather stupid questions , that appear to be filled, as if she had a page quota That’s a poor substitute for a decent plot.
  • Mixed feelings about this author.

I hated this book; the plot was very flimsy and the characters all extremely unlikeable , and I hate Behind Closed Doors. I’ve enjoyed reading her other books, though. I’ll give the next one a shot, but if you’re on the fence maybe skip this one.
