Falling For The Villain

I wish I actually had the correct words to do this book justice. Actually, even if I had the correct words, I probably couldn’t use them without being a spoil sport. So please bare with me, as I try to navigate this review.
I can honestly say without a doubt that I have NEVER read a book even remotely close to this one. Let me be the first to say, I’ve read dark books before, and now that I’ve read this one? It’s actually laughable thinking I knew what a dark book was. Shooo weee, Falling For The Villain is without a doubt the definition of a dark book. So take that warning for what it is.
In all honesty, after reading the first couple chapters I didn’t know if I could do it, but I am so glad I pushed through. This duo of authors took me to a place I never even imagined. I was intrigued. I was scared, but mostly I was curious. Robinson and Van Dyken’s great world building opened my eyes to the curiosity and change. They crafted a well developed story that was perfectly plotted out with dialogue that even had me submissive. I quickly learned that there is a fine line between love and hate, and I loved to hate Donovan.
Falling For The Villain is not an easy book in any sense of the word, but it is a book that will not be forgotten. It was such a nice change of pace. I actually really enjoyed it. I even put my own stamp of recommending it as well.

Mafia Casanova
4 Stars
I have a serious obsession with M.Robinson, so when I found out she was collabing with very known author to say I was stoked, was putting it mildly. I am very well versed when it comes to the queen of angst but to be frank, I have never read anything by Van Dyken and I am quite ashamed because she is so well known in the Romance world and not only that, they both collabed so wonderfully together that I couldn’t tell who wrote what. It was almost like they are one in the same. Now that is something I thought I would never see and now that I have, I am gonna go all grabby hands on ALL of Van Dyken's published books. With that said, I shall continue onto the greatness of all that Mafia Casanova entails.
Mafia Casanova is one heck of a complex book. From the storyline to the characters, it was almost like hitting a brick wall over and over. I'm not kidding when I say, if this would have been any other author besides Robinson I would have put this book down within the first two chapters and not picked it back up for one reason and one reason only, and no I am not going to disclose what that is because umm... hello spoiler! I knew I had to push through because I knew with Robinson's words included she would help me wrap my mind around it, and she did. It was not easy, but I can say I do understand it now.
While I am at it, as I previously mentioned, Robinson and Van Dyken collabed so well together, I couldn't tell you who wrote what. That in itself takes mad skill. The writing in general was sensational, and everything developed and flowed in a timely manner. I was also a fan of how this duo of authors wove the past into the storyline as well. I could feel the emotions from the past, and I seen the how and the why and how it affected the present, if that makes sense?. I guess that plays into the depth of Mafia Casanova and since we are talking about the depth I am going for straight honesty. Robinson and Van Dyken carved my heart out and left me wide open on many occasions. Man, I felt this book from all POVs. It was like it grabbed me around the neck like a noose and left me gasping for air. Let me not forget the suspense. Holy moly! I was on the edge of my seat so nervous because I did NOT know how Mafia Casanova was going to play out.
Romeo god Romeo. I wanted to warp my hands around his neck and strangle the life out of him. He is an alpha - a hole that grew on me BIG time. His reasoning was not always right, but he went with it anyways knowing what the outcome would be. Overall, this was a wonderful book and I look forward to this duo of authors collabing together in the future.
