The O’Rourke family has held a special place in my heart and I am so excited for each new book to join the saga! This story was sweet and certainly fun to read, but I can’t rank it among my favorite books she’s written. The characters are their same deeply passionate, lovable selves and Mary & Seamus remain my favorite couple with their abiding tenderness for one another, their wisdom, and the unrelenting support they offer each of their children and spouses. They model the very kind of love that I think we all hope to find in a lifetime. However, as for the main characters themselves, I had a little trouble connecting with their story the same as the other’s before them. I found their relationship roadblocks to be more frustrating than heartbreaking—but maybe I’m just used to the higher action and stakes in some of the other books, so this one seemed more trivial than monumental. Still, it’s a solid story, nicely written, and I think fans will still really enjoy it! As always, I’m excited to read more from Ramona Flightner!
