Author should stay away from historical or time period books. This is an okay book at best. I’ve read almost all of her books and they’re all good but this one. The author should stick to what she’s good at.

One Night with the Duke was a slow start for me, I wasn’t able to like Eliza and I tired of her complaints. I decided to continue because I have loved Jodi Ellen Malpas books. I’m very glad I continued because this was another enjoyable book. Soon I was entranced and stayed up most of the night to finish. Look forward to more 18th and hopefully 17th century insights and intrigue.

I am new to historical romances, so I was excited to read one written by one of my favorites authors. I enjoyed reading One Night with the Duke by Jodi Ellen Malpas. It was a fun and charming read. Eliza was feisty, smart, and determined. The last thing she wanted was a husband, but she also loves her family. When she meets Johnny, she finds him intriguing. He was aloof and full of secrets, but their connection was strong. The chemistry between them is undeniable. Their journey was slow burning, steamy and I loved their interactions. I enjoyed reading this story and am very excited to see what comes next. Happy reading!

I really enjoyed reading this book, I haven't read a historical romance in a while and I'm so happy I did. Jody Ellen Malpas transported me through her words, amazing characters and most incredible plot to an era I absolutely adore. The heroine in this story is Eliza Melrose, a 19 year old woman with a different view of the world she live in. Her family's fortune has suddenly change and she finds herself living a life with the wealthiest families in Belmore Square. She misses her old life were she was able to contribute in her father's news paper without never getting credit but at list she had some freedom. Now she is being force into an arrange marriage and worst she can't write anymore but when a mysterious Duke is back in town she is unable to keep her curiosity in check. Johnny Winters is the mysterious Duke that has Eliza totally confused. The feelings that he invokes in her are sinful because a lady shouldn't have those thoughts, good thing she always denies she is a lady because the thoughts the Duke has towards her are even more sinfully dangerous but Eliza's reputation is in danger and not everything it's as it seems, they are secrets that can ruin everything. The plot of this story was fantastic and the sensual tension between the Duke and Eliza even more perfect. I think this book was a great start to this series and I hope Eliza's siblings get their own books. You really need to read this!!
