On one hand this was a good story. On the other, how completely insulting and annoying is it that the older woman is taken in by a scammer, and had to be rescued by her son and her ex? Older women are NOT all stupid, gullible, and needing of a guy to save the from themselves.

This is a cutesy story but actually not bad. Better than most free books. Author has a nice writing style and the characters were likable without being over the top, dramatic, and there is not dumb misunderstanding that gets blown out of proportion. Is there a third act fall out? Meh. There’s a little drama but nothing major. Whole story reminds me of “Hallmark after dark,” if that were a thing. It’s pretty clean, small town girl, big city guy, and the spice is closed door. So… a tomato. Can’t even say it’s some jalapeño dust because this is pretty clean and on the lowest end of the spice level. If you want slow burn, it’s there. If you want slow burn with a gratifying clothes ripping scene, this isn’t the book for you.

The characters in this story were well-developed and interesting. I especially enjoyed the descriptions of the artist’s process. The relationship between the main characters was believable and had depth to it.
