Good writing, fun magic system, the main kid is a little in-celly to me. Hopefully it’s a loser to hero story and the author is just making him ultra pathetic at the beginning of his journey

I don’t know what to write, this whole series is absolutely amazing, the world building feels so real. Too many books feel like the world began at the same time the story did, but you don’t get that. There are Magic and characters whose very inexplicability explains the story further.

I thought this book was confusing. There were a lot of strange names for things and people in here. I was having to guess what most of everything was. If it wasn’t for the glossary of terms I would have been totally lost. I didn’t particularly like the story. It is one of those books that sound good from the description but when you get into it you find out it is not as good as the description suggests. I will not be reading any more of this series.

Great book! A mixture of Brandon Sanderson and Robert Jordan’s style of writings. But with even better battle & combat descriptions was very exciting! Has it’s own totally unique magical system that you will find very intriguing. Also, it has a lot of similar aspects to Pillars of Eternity Deadfire.

This series was fantastic! I was not a “reader” before getting into this series. It sparked an interest in reading for the first time in my life. “The powder mage” series is also fantastic!

This is possibly the best fantasy series I've read (and I'm on a bit of a fantasy kick, so there have been quite a lot). I've read all four available books so far and this series is absolutely mind blowing. The first book was a little slow at first because there are so many characters and there is so much background to be covered, but once it kicks into high gear there are twists and turns throughout the entire series. The world gets bigger with each book and it expands into this beautiful story that covers many aspects of life in the real world (religion, politics, morality and love for example). It's not what I expected, but definitely in a good way. Truly, if you're looking for a good series to get started on, don't hesitate!

This book is absolutely amazing. A page-turner from start to finish, with complex story lines and huge reveals every other page, you will not sleep when hooked onto this book. I, myself, just finished this book at 1:30 a.m. Last night, and my prom is today and I'm absolutely exhausted. SO WORTH IT.
