Description

“Kick-ass were-coyote auto mechanic Mercedes Thompson” (Publishers Weekly) has leapt to the forefront of today’s urban fantasy heroes, thanks to bestselling author Patricia Briggs. Now, Mercy finds herself in the middle of a bloodbath—with only one way out...

Mercy has friends in low places—and in dark ones. And now she owes one of them a favor. Since she can shapeshift at will, she agrees to act as some extra muscle when her vampire friend Stefan goes to deliver a message to another of his kind. But this new vampire is hardly ordinary—and neither is the demon inside of him.

When the undead and the werewolves sent to find him don’t return, the local vampire queen turns to Mercy for help. A coyote is no match for a demon, but Mercy is determined to get her friends back—including the two werewolves circling around her heart.

The blend of supernatural and mid sized city works perfectly in this extra dark book. I really enjoyed the pacing, how each character’s motivations made sense, and how we ended up where we did at the end of the book. I also love how we are getting closer and closer to finding/ figuring out what Mercy is. Onto the next book! Thank you Briggs for an amazing read!

I love this series and keep re-reading it! The second book in the series is alright but not my favorite. It gives you a lot of information on the rules and structure the monsters have to abide by so you can keep that in mind as you read the rest of the books. I especially like reading about Adam! If you keep reading the series you won’t be disappointed!!

Excellent story! Mercy, Adam, Samuel and Stefan are very interesting characters. This book has lots of action to go with the mystery. You will find a lot of people will suffer and you will see Mercy learn more about herself and others. Ghosts have an interesting g part in this book as well interacting with Mercy. I am recommending this book as well as the rest of the series as am hooked with the characters and the stories!

Here is where the series starts to pull away from my image of the rest of the field. It seems like a cross between Laurell K. Hamilton and Jim Butcher. It really does feel like a small fish in a big pond. The monsters are more conventional and this actually helps the story.

In Blood Bound, Mercy is called by the Vampire Queen to help track down a demon/vampire who is wreaking havoc in the area. Mercy and her friends, as well as everyone in the entire Tri-Cities area is in danger, and it will take everything Mercy has to find this evil being and get rid of it. I really enjoyed re-reading this book. It's so nice to go back and read the series again with some background on the characters and a greater understanding of Briggs world-building. I think Mercy is a great character, and I love this series. I was glad to see Adam and all of the wonderful secondary characters again too. The storyline of the demon/vampire murdering people was compelling and kept my interest. I think Blood Bound is a great follow up to the first book in the series!

The Mercy Thompson series really hits its stride with this sequel to Moon Called. Werewolves took center stage in the first book, and now the vampires get their turn. The characters are richly developed, and the plot is tighter. The writing overall improved from good to great. The romance aspect is still present but gets minor page-time. This is the book that really got me hooked on this series.

Love the characters and the fact that you don't necessarily need to read previous books to know what is going on. Very good story teller, her style draws you in and you get ver attached to the characters. She has a style that doesn't require sex to keep you hooked. Read one and you won't stop!

This book was a little better than the first one. Good luck to those who like these type of novels.

I normally do not like what I call bodice ripper books but this one is a heart stopper. The second book in the series builds character development to the point your head stops remembering the people who fill your head are not real. Your heart becomes engaged and you want the heroes to win and when sometimes one of the good guys dies just like in real life you mourn for them. This is the result of a true wordsmiths work, total suspension of disbelief! Please allow me to recommend this author for an excellent time of entertainment!

An excellent book. I think this is where Briggs' writing really took off. I couldn't get my mind off of it even when I wasn't reading.
