Description

A man with a secret life risks everything to clear his name in this “ingenious suspense thriller”(The New York Times Book Review) from the bestselling author of the Penn Cage series.

By day, Harper Cole trades commodities from his isolated home in the Mississippi Delta. By night he leads quite a different life, serving as a systems operator for an exclusive, annonymous erotic online service that caters to the rich and famous. But now a stranger has penetrated the network's state-of-the-art security, brutally murdering six celebrated female clients.

Falsely accused of these horrible crimes, Harper realizes there's only one way to lure the elusive madman offline and into the open. But as he enacts his daring plan, Harper will put everything and everyone he holds dear directly in the path of a brilliant, unstoppable killer...

I think this might be my favorite book. Greg Iles is definitely one of my favorite authors and this is the book that introduced me to his work. "Mortal Fear" is wicked and intricate and the writing is superb. I'm reading all of his books again and am enjoying them as much, if not more, than I did the first time.

This book was incredible. It took about sixteen chapters for me to say that I was hooked. But when it happened it was very difficult to put it down. I was so involved with the characters that when I managed to put it down it took a while to get used to my "normal" surroundings. Great read!!!

I will not even give this iBook version one star, but had to give it one in order to comment. Greg Iles is an incredible author! This printed version of this book is an insult to his writing. I enjoy iBooks, but this is rIdiculous! I was going to delete this as a "lost cause" but some update has been done, but not nearly enough. It has caps and periods, but that's about it! What a disappointment!

I too am greatly disappointed in the digitized version of this book. sad to say, it is difficult to read without adequate punctuation. In the future I will be sure to check the reviews before paying $9.99 for such poor quality. I would rate this book higher, but it is so distracting to read when there is no punctuation and words Run together. Shell is actually she'll, were is actually we're - just two example of why re.adding this was tedious.

This book is badly digitized, wordsare not separatedby spaces. Just like that. Every page so far has the same typos. I want my money back, this is impossible to read. I rated it 1 star because it won't let me rate 0. Shame because I really love Greg Iles books and was looking forward to reading this one. Unfortunately it wasn't available on the kindle. Otherwise Would have done Kindle, which I like better.
