Description

A bastard hybrid of War of the Worlds and Night of the Living Dead, Autumn chronicles the struggle of a small group of survivors forced to contend with a world torn apart by a deadly disease. After 99% of the population of the planet is killed in less than 24 hours, for the very few who have managed to stay alive, things are about to get much worse. Animated by "phase two" of some unknown contagion, the dead begin to rise. At first slow, blind, dumb and lumbering, quickly the bodies regain their most basic senses and abilities... sight, hearing, locomotion... As well as the instinct toward aggression and violence. Held back only by the restraints of their rapidly decomposing flesh, the dead seem to have only one single goal - to lumber forth and destroy the sole remaining attraction in the silent, lifeless world: those who have survived the plague, who now find themselves outnumbered 1,000,000 to 1...

Without ever using the 'Z' word, Autumn offers a new perspective on the traditional zombie story. There's no flesh eating, no fast-moving corpses, no gore for gore's sake. Combining the atmosphere and tone of George Romero's classic living dead films with the attitude and awareness of 28 Days (and Weeks) later, this horrifying and suspenseful novel is filled with relentless cold, dark fear.

I read this book in two days. I probably would have red it in one but work and classes got in the way. Amazing books, I love how descriptive it was! Highly recommend it!

All in all a good book, but the ending was predictable and leaves you with out closure. I might pick up the sequels...but at this point it's a very big might

Ok, so all zombie stories are the same, right? If you've read one then you've read them all, right? Wrong and wrong again. This book was original, fast paced, fun and terrifying in a whole new way. I quickly became addicted and found the book difficult to put down! Looking for a good read? Look no further because here it is.

David moody has become one of my favorite contemporary writers. His fist two books were classics themselves in the world of zombie. When I purchased this book i was hoping for more of that, perhaps the third installment of hater. It proved to be not. The story is intriguing because he sticks with the zombie formula, which he seems mosts comfortable with. The story has relatable protagonist that the read can enjoy and empathize with, but it falls short in action. There doesn't seem to be any immediate danger, just the presence and you continue to read hoping something will happen. Does it? I can't speaker for every reader, but i was disappointed. Please read hater of dog blood before purchasing this boo, because it'll make you hope for him finish the hater trilogy as he promised.
