I've never written a review before but felt compelled to do so for this book. I almost passed on reading this book because of the review left in 2012. I'm not sure what that reader expected but she seemed to take the story very personally. It is fiction after all. Meant to entertain. Ms. Jeffries always writes very enjoyable stories this one is no different.

I absolutely love Sabrina Jefferies!!!! However, this was her first book to disappoint me. *Possible Spoilers Alert* I had a couple problems with the book. I should first mention that I have not read all of Ms. Jeffries book in chronological order, so when I read that Lord Stoneville and his friends hosted Nitrous Oxide Parties I was disappointed, it certainly didn’t make me feel good about Lord Stoneville any more... Especially when he somewhat forced Madeline to use it (even though his intentions were to help his friend). I know they all become reformed Rakes, but I really didn’t want to visualize that they hosted, let alone partaken in drug fueled orgies. Madeline’s character went from sweet with good intentions to annoying and unbelievable half way through the book. She always has noble intentions (to save her father’s reputation as a Dr. & to prevent Tony from losing custody of his niece), but the way she goes about getting them is all wrong. She thinks her way is the best way, there is no comprise with her and Tony. She lies, she allows Tony to jump to his own conclusions, she forces/blackmails him to help her without really giving him an explanation. I drew the line when she decides to let him deflower him so she can use it as leverage later. Even though she changes her mind… I lost respect for her as a person. Ms. Jefferies did tell a great story, and it really did come together at the end, but my heart wasn’t really into it like it usually is. :(
