Read this when it first came out and I am circling back again. When you cant go anywhere or see anyone the adventures in these books do quite nicely. ;)

Out of the first four books in the series this one is the best in my opinion. Fantastic story telling and character development. The story of Mat, Rand and Perrin continue in an exciting fashion!

There seems to be a significant portion of the chapter Goldeneyes missing from this ebook.

This one was hard to put down! Jordan's ability to build relationships around his intricate character building brings out emotional responses. I can't wait to see what other new cultures he comes up with!

Second time reading the series and I'm still staying up into the wee hours of the morning reading. Never been more into any series ever!

A great book. It isn't boring and it doesn't have things taken directly from LOTR, just some similar things, as with almost every other book of its type. Overall a great book. I am only 15, but I enjoy reading, and this series sure does keep you with something good to read for a LONG time.
  • Unoriginal, boring, repetitive

The whole Wheel of Time series is incredibly boring and repetitive. To top it off, huge tracks of the mythology is directly ripped of from The Lord of the Rings and other JRR Tolkien books. It's very blatant at times, with some characters directly lifted from Tolkien with just some changes to the spelling of their names. Shameful. Go read Tolkien, or Game of Thrones, but skip this book and this entire series.

I had forgotten how long TSR was until I started reading it about two weeks ago. It has become my favorite of the series. It details the history of the world before and during the Breaking. The characters become greater than they were and finally get a sense of what they are dealing with. It is the beginning of Mat and Perrin's journey to become the men they are later in the series. Rand comes into his own and accepts his destiny as the Dragon Reborn and begins to plot his offense against the Forsaken. The main story, in my opinion, though happens in Tanchico when Nynaeve faces down Moghedian and realizes her own true potential as an Aes Sedai. If you've never read the series or haven't read it in years, this is the book to start with.
