Description

Theodore Taylor was one of the most brilliant engineers of the nuclear age, but in his later years he became concerned with the possibility of an individual being able to construct a weapon of mass destruction on their own. McPhee tours American nuclear institutions with Taylor and shows us how close we are to terrorist attacks employing homemade nuclear weaponry.

I was stunned to read this and have sent over a dozen copies to Congressmen with copies of clipping that I made over four years time from newspapers. Eerily, this book might be a damning forecast of nuclear terrorism in the United States and Russia.

Even for a novice curious about the topic of nuclear energy (or maybe especially for a novice) this book presents material in moderately easy and interesting approaches. A good read to establishing a fundamental knowledge base for further explorations.
