MMF This is the conclusion to the Piper, Finn, Derek relationships. There is a lot of complicated dynamics going on and it always feels like Piper is on the outside looking in. Grr. But, it’s good, in an angsty way. There’s group dates and individual dates. Because Finn and Derek are already in a relationship. There’s a lot of other stuff going on with the covert drama. Recommend. Again, it’s a MMF.
  • Incredible Conclusion to an Amazing Love Story

I absolutely loved When Forever Finds Us by Claudia Burgoa; the second book in her The Downfall of Us, it is an incredible love story. Claudia Burgoa continues to provide readers with incredible love stories filled with amazing characters. She continues to prove that she is an amazing storyteller. I love all the characters in When Forever Finds Us, they feel like family! When Forever Finds Us filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, it was impossible to put it down, and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. My favorite part is how Claudia Burgoa incorporated the title of the book into their love story with a simple thought by Piper. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud. My favorite moments are the ones that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. When Forever Finds Us is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. It is filled with all those things that I have come to love and expect in Claudia Burgoa love story, and she did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. When Forever Finds Us is the conclusion of the love story between Piper Cooperson, musician, therapist, publisher, Finnegan Gil, author and security specialist, and Dr. Derek Yates Farrow, former Navy SEAL, who holds a doctorate in physical therapy and another in occupational therapy. When Forever Finds Us picks up where The End of Me ended. Piper was injured in an attack when she was out with Teddy. Finn takes Piper to one of the safe houses that he owns. Finn brings in his father, Charles, to keep Piper company and safe. Piper learns about Finn from Charles. Finn and Derek are planning to eliminate the Z’s cartel and Ricardo Zamudio, after the attack on Piper and Teddy. They are keeping their eyes on Seth and Teddy. I loved reading a different perspective about the events that occurred in the Covert Affairs duet. Piper had concerns about starting a relationship with Derek because of what happened to Archer. A plot twist causes Piper to leave the safe house and head to California to be with her family. I love how Finn and Derek head to Piper and Archer’s penthouse in New York to read the letters and watch the videos that Archer left for Piper in the event of his death, and then read the entries that Piper wrote in her journal. I love how Piper stress bakes. Another favorite part of the book is when it is revealed that Finn has a ladybug tattoo near his ribs. The saddest part of the story happens after Finn rescues Teddy from Zamudio and then Florence St. James, Archer’s mother, declares Archer legally dead. Despite Florence’s declaration, Finn begins to build relationships with his siblings even though he does not remember any of them. I love all the things that Finnegan and Derek do for Piper, to help her realize how much they both love her and how Finn admits that he has always felt some unexplained connection to Piper. I love all the changes to each one of them is willing to make to have a relationship with one another. I love the ending of their love story and Derek’s proposal to Finnegan and Piper and the circumstances around his proposal. I also love how the epilogue went above and beyond a happily ever after, and is told from the perspective of Piper, Derek, and Finn. I love Finnegan’s epilogue best. I was so happy that Piper, Finn, and Derek finally got their happily ever after. I love the surprise that is revealed at the end of their love story. I love the characters and the family dynamic in When Forever Finds Us, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between Decker cousins and siblings, how they always have each other’s back, but especially their teasing that made me laugh. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I loved When Forever Finds Us, the conclusion of Piper, Finn, and Derek’s love story and their happily ever after. Highly recommend this incredible love story.
  • The conclusion of Asher and Piper’s story

I'm sure some are looking at the title of my review and scratching their heads. It's honestly the best I could come up with. And I'll probably say honestly a few more times and sound like a broken record. While being vague in places, because I don't want to spoil anyone else's journey through the book. But it's the truth. Asher doesn't exist anymore. And no, that's not a spoiler if you read book one, which you should have because this is book 2 of a duet. So, When Forever Finds Us obviously references Finn, Piper and Derek's story, but for me, it's the end of Piper and Asher. And again...honestly, that makes me sad. Because the Asher we get to know through people's memories (more in book 1 than here) and his letters is a character I would have fallen completely in love with. Instead, we have Finn, who I actually did like, even though he "replaces" Asher. I have great empathy for Finn and again, honestly, liked his more than I did Derek or Piper. If you read my review of book 1, I mention not liking a character I was sure would surprise people. That was Derek. Piper is the one I didn't care for this time. I really tried to feel more sympathy towards her but couldn't. Why the four star review, you ask, if I didn't even like the characters? Because that's a me issue, not an author issue. Claudia Burgoa wrote a book that answered a lot of questions, closed the door on one relationship while developing and blossoming another. Many fans do and will love it. It didn't touch me the same way, but again, that's my opinion. She's still an author I love and will continue to read. Because one book...and I mean one book, because I've enjoyed every other one I've read...doesn't end and author and reader relationship. It's not our conclusion, just Asher and Piper's.

I did nothing that I had planned to do today. I read this book and Wow. I really loved this story but now I am emotionally drained. It was riveting and I felt like I was on a roller coaster of highs and lows. It was so, so good. Claudia Burgoa has once again provided and excellent book.

This book.... there were so many times that I was a sobbing mess while trying to get to the end of the story but all of that was very much worth the ending. This is definitely my favorite of all of CB's books and the duet might be the best of the series. I can't wait to see what comes next.
