Thoroughly enjoyed Elana Johnson’s new sweet romance. A bit different from her other books, Elana writes this text in first person which allows the reader a glimpse into the thoughts and emotions of her characters as they work through the joys and struggles in their relationship.

What an enjoyable book by Elana Johnson, different than the others I’ve read by her, but still a good clean romance book. Her characters are well written, with flaws and all, especially Sloan. There were times I didn’t like her because she was so selfish (and didn’t realize it) and Logan was just so giving of himself. Also Johnson paints a beautiful picture in the setting of the book. I definitely want to take a vacation to the beach resort Sloan and Logan were visiting. 5 stars from this reader.

It was a sweet and fun love story that had me laughing and routing for the two of them the whole way through! A fun best friend to romance story. I loved reading it. What I loved about this book was the real and relatable insecurities and the honest communication between the two main characters. Definitely recommend reading it!

This is a friends to lovers story. It was fun to see how things progressed for them and how they worked things out. It was a quick romantic read.

Loved this book. Sloane and Logan met 5 years ago after Sloan was left at the alter on her wedding day and chose to go on her honeymoon alone. The friendship has continued and now comes the hard part of acknowledging the fact their feelings have changed. Sloane still plays the victim and Logan had secrets that come out in a way that causes big feelings for both of them. It is a great book that kept me interested from beginning to end. Lots of kissing but no more spice than that. Several innuendos but totally G rated. Loved the escape to a warm beach in the middle of my winter.

For me this book was really different from other books I’ve read by this author. For one thing it’s emotionally charged. I cried twice near the end because I felt moved by the growth of the main characters. The characters are realistically flawed. There is no ‘oh you like me and well I guess I like you too so lets have our HEA’. No it shows a real progression of love battling against fear. It was a breath of fresh air metaphorically speaking to not see characters pivot seamlessly from best friends to lovers at the drop of a hat. I also appreciated that very early in the book Logan told her how his feelings toward her were different, there wasn’t any dragging out trying to hide feelings for 3/4 of the book. The story was about them forging a lasting relationship. I loved the vacations! The last vacation in the book got me more excited about my trip going to the same place later this summer. Great beach read! This was a forced proximity, one bed, but no hanky panky happens. But oh my goodness their first kiss was amazing! Two words- beachside shower! Rating: PG, clean, no language, several kissing scenes but nothing really descriptive about it, some steam but without the heat, closed door romance, left at the altar, drinking alcohol.

Sloane and Logan are BFFs accidentally of course after her fiancé failed to show up at their wedding. Sloane went on her honeymoon with Logan when he decides to purchase her extra ticket at the airport. Yes, most of us would never think of doing that with a complete stranger but they seem to hit it off right from the start. Is it fate? Sloane and Logan begin to figure out who they are and take annual mid-winter trips together. This is a slow burn romance and I mean slow buts it’s what I like best about it. You really get to know these characters and I loved their banter with each other. Sloane is able to pull Logan from his reclusive lifestyle and Logan helps calm Sloane when her mind keeps spinning. You will cheer for Logan and Sloane. Loved it.

What a great story! Loved the dynamic between Sloane and Logan and their interesting back-story. I felt like I couldn’t read fast enough - I just wanted to see how their story unfolded. So fun!!!
