Description

When life hands you a hunky, rich hockey player…say yes.
But Cassandra isn’t used to accepting help—and especially not from a sweet-talking, hunky man with more cash than she’s seen in her lifetime. And anyway, she’s got problems that are bigger than his bank account…
Single dad Landon isn’t used to hearing no. Especially when he knows the only thing holding Cass back from agreeing to be his nanny is her pride and unfounded fears.
How can he convince her that he’s worth counting on when it comes to helping her sick son, and she’s the best thing for his headstrong young daughter?
It’s hard to keep saying no.
Especially when love starts to grow…
Too bad they agreed to live together out of convenience—and not out of love.
Is it too late to change their deal?

I loved this story! I like how Cass and Landon both loved each other’s children right from the beginning of meeting each other and how Landon stood by Dusty in his & Cass’s heartbreaking medical scares. And how Cass taught Rylyn to be a cowgirl princess. A feel good romance about coming together as a family. ❤️💙❤️💙

Thoroughly enjoyed it, like all of Oram’s books, it was clean and wholesome (no sec scenes or bad language). It was nice to read about protagonists that were strong and sensitive and defies the stereotypical roles of men and women.

The Peppermint Lodge is book 4 in the Hockey Sweethearts series by Jean Oram about single parents. A very charming book about trust, friendship and family. Both Cassandra and Landon are single parents who have issues the other can help solve. But the past hurts and health issues of Cassandra’s son give twists to the story. Can the two get together and work out their misunderstanding and crossed signals? Read to find out. I love this series by Jean Oram!

I loved this book. I had a hard time putting it down. It’s sweet, with the perfect amount of heat between Landon and Cassandra. Sometimes, two people are just meant to meet each other and find the other half of themselves. When Landon and Cassandra meet, there’s an instant attraction, but both being single parents, they fight it. Landon Johnson is a pro hockey player with a bright and active four year old daughter. Rylnn. Rylnn might remind you of Lilo from Disney’s Lilo and Stitch. She’s precocious and a bit bossy but lovable and well-behaved. And she’s all about princesses. Cassandra is a divorcée with a young son whose in kindergarten. Dusty is all boy, and in need of some male guidance. When the two families cross paths at a dance, it’s like fate arranged it. But Cass has been hurt by her former husband. Landon needs reliable childcare for Rylnn, but he can’t find it in San Antonio where his team, the Dragons, plays. When he meets Cass a second time, a lightbulb goes off in his head. He only needs to convince Cass that it’s a good and workable solution. Landon is the perfect man, willing to go the extra mile to make sure that Cass and both kids are happy. When Dusty develops a health problem, Landon is right there helping in every way he can. Can the two get together and work out their misunderstanding and crossed signals? This book is wonderful! I highly recommend it. I received a copy of this book from the author. I thank her for her generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.

The Peppermint Lodge written by Jean Oram. This book has it all wrapped up in its feel good pages! It’s sweet, funny, quirky, a few tears, and just a lot of “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours”. And honey, he is a tall, well built, hockey playing hunk with an adorable kid…! Sign. Me. Up. And what’s even better? There are lots more books about this group of friends to read too! Happy me!

The Peppermint Lodge was entertaining throughout and if you want to find a new crush, get to know Landon in this story of trying until you get it right. I would have liked to learn more about the Christmas Tree sales and how that turned out—but maybe we’ll see more about that “next Christmas.”
