I know this author has written many books, but this is the first book I’ve read of hers and I’ve definitely been missing out. I absolutely adored Boone’s story. If you love single dad romances, you should read this amazing book. Alexis may be much younger than him, but when Boone and her get together, he’s hooked. Normally, he’s a one and done kind of guy, but he knows he’ll be with Alexis again and again. I’m not going to leave any spoilers about what happens, but this book will have you flipping the pages to see what happens. I loved how Boone helped Alexis out on several occasions and how close he is to his grown son, Abel, and his friends. Grab your copy and get ready to fall in love with all these characters. I loved Boone so much I’ve already preordered Abel from the author’s website. I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

First book in a new series. It’s an age gap romance but that really doesn’t have much effect on the characters. Alexis graduated college and working two jobs to pay her bills. No luck finding a job in her field. Boone frequents her store for supplies for his construction business. When he hears her being abused by a customer he steps in. They give in to their attraction but he stresses he is not looking for a relationship, just one and done. After they spend the night together he has second thoughts and want to see how things go. Great cast of characters and beginning of new series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This is a fantastic start to a new series. Ms. Briscoe is a go-to author of mine. This book demonstrates perfectly the wonderful talent Ms. Briscoe has for a blue collar single dad romance! I just adored Boone and how he would protect and treat Alexis. Alexis is struggling to find work to put her college degree to work. She has to work two jobs to make ends meet. She worries about how she is going to pay back her college loan. At least working at her family's bar, she has an apartment above it! But the cashier's job exposes her to the nastiest of customers. Boone gets her a job at the construction company he works for. He is a project manager. He is so good at what he does, that the owner of the company wants to make him a partner. He also loves woodworking. The woodworking helped him to raise his son Abel. Boone was a YOUNG father. At the tender age of 15, he becomes a dad. There isn't a lot conflict, just the normal situations of two people with an age gap coming together. This is a sexy book. Ms. Briscoe doesn't write overly graphic details. She also doesn't write so many sexy scenes that there isn't a story. I would highly recommend this story to anyone over the age of consent.

This is the first book I’ve read by Laramie Briscoe and I really enjoyed her writing. Age gap has been my go to lately and this one is smokin hot. Boone is a hard working man who looks out for his son and his found family. He’s selfless and is always helping others. Alexis is a hard worker who’s determined to find her way even she has to work multiple jobs. There is a spark between Boone and Alexis that slowly ignites and becomes a full on flame! It may seem they don’t have a lot in common but they are both so good for one another. Loved their dialogue and banter! And can I say this is one of my most favorite covers I’ve seen this year!! Looking forward to reading other books by Laramie.
