Great book about a great man who made great sacrifices for himself and his family. May peace be with you “Johnny Walker”!

This book provides great insights into the war in Iraq from an Iraqi who did his best to save his country, while also supporting Navy Seals and other American forces.

This has been the most fascinating tome of any kind I've ever read. The world would be a far better place if there were more Johnny Walkers in it. Everyone should take the time to read this book. It will put your hat on straight, and remind us all why America is the greatest country in the world.

What a great read. Exciting, keeps you on the edge of your seat and you really come to like and respect the main character in the book. The fact that he was honorable, courageous, and humble in the midst of the worst humanity can throw at him is a testament to his inner self. I also loved his description of America in an immigrants eyes and he came and lives with his family for all the right reasons. My hat is off to you Johnny Walker,

Although a baby boomer, I’m much more familiar with the American perspective of Operation Desert Storm and the wars in Iraq, than I am with the Vietnam era. Aided by my 23 years working as a civilian with the Navy and Marine Corps, I found this book to be a vivid perspective of life from the Iraqi point of view and added color and validity to what I heard in the US news. I highly recommend this book.

Excellent book, a page turner about the inner and outer man who is Johnny Walker, combat interpreter, devoutly religious and trusted by many teams of Navy Seals. He offers a unique view of the Iraqi War. You will learn and appreciate!

Reads quickly. Doesn't get bogged down with endless detail. Short, concise expressions conveying the actions, thoughts, and history of Johnny and his families, his and the SEALS.

This books provides insight into the lives of ordinary Iraqis surviving constant war. J. W. is a family man who starts working with American troops to support his family. In getting to know the Seals, J. W. learns about American culture and values and eventually comes to the States. J.W.'s contribution to the Seals is admirable. This was a great read. I couldn't put the book down.

What a wonder read and even more what a courageous man. I am so impressed with the Navy Seals and the people who assist them. God Bless all of them wherever they are and may Mr. Walker and his beautiful family live their dreams here in America!!!
