In a world where lies and miss information are feed to the American Public on a daily basis this book is a breath of fresh air. It reads like a crime novel but unfortunately it's not fiction. The author manages to take complicated & convoluted financial and legal scenarios and present them in everyday English. This book is eminently readable and well documented. The stories are compelling, and the author draws clear lines that illustrate how our discriminatory justice system favors the rich and powerful over the poor and powerless. If this book doesn't make you angry you may just be part of the problem.

I've always loved Taibbi's approach to journalism: tackle the shocking, only-slightly-complex stories that go unwritten in most papers, or are covered in only the most dry fashion. Taibbi's approach: use metaphor and contrast to make financial crime understandable, and draw out its impact on our lives, shaming the individuals who allow it to happen and the criminals themselves. Cheers to Taibbi for a wonderful investigation.

This book is informative and very relevant. It puts into perspective the double standard which currently exists in our legal system. Excellent book!
