Description

The Walking Dead Compendium is here! Since 2003, Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead has been redefining the survival horror genre with its unique and vivid account of life after the end of the world. Although the cast is diverse and often changing (including, of course, a great number of zombies), at the heart of every tale is Rick Grimes: former police officer, husband, father, and de facto leader of a ragtag band of survivors looking to make a future for themselves in a world that no longer has one. To call The Walking Dead a zombie tale is accurate to a point, but it touches on only one facet of a story that asks timeless questions about what it means to live. It also asks whether or not this is possible in a world full of the dead. This is a great opportunity to experience this gripping read for the first time or catch up on the tale with the first four years worth of material, collected in one volume for the first time. The first eight volumes of this fan-favorite series collected into one massive collection. This volume collects THE WALKING DEAD #1-48.

I used to be terrified of zombies (not Minecraft ones included) and I’ve hadn’t had the guts to even touch or even think about zombies like in the book, I’m glad I came to my senses and ready this book! Now I like zombies a little more than I used to.

Wow just wow. Finally had the time to start the comics after catching up on the tv show. Now I can finally appreciate the small and subtle differences between the novel and show.

I didn't find the comic until after season five. I love them both. There were actually more differences between the comic and the show than I thought there would be, but that only added to my pleasure. I came of age when Stan Lee and friends first published Marvel. There have been many, many changes to comics since the early 1950s, but The Walking Dead is pure genius.

  • Rejoice - The Crashing Glitch is DEAD!

The initial rollout of iOS 9 introduced a glitch in iBooks that caused large page count graphic novels to crash after passing a certain page count. Due to their size, all three TWD compendiums were impacted. The latest patches to iOS have fixed the issue and I have read all three volumes without a crash (yes, volume three is available in iBooks again).
