Alex Delaware just gets more and more pretentious and boring. A talky waste of time.

Now I remember why I didn’t read this author for a few years. This book was pointless; I think the author explored all scenarios because he lacked direction and an ending.

A good writer with interesting characters. After two consecutive disappointments from authors who decided to take on sidekicks writers a la James Patterson, it's good to be back with a winner. Now if James Lee Burke and Ian Rankin will just write another.

The last 6-7 episodes in the love song of Sturgis and Delaware have been repetitive and lacking of originality. This novel returns the plot and characters to a top rating: original and unpredictable.

Not up to the usual standards; exceptionally boring.
  • Still enjoy Alex & Milo, of course

This wasn't JK's very best, but it was a pretty good read. It held my interest and had a few good twists. I'll always enjoy Alex Delaware novels, for sentimental reasons if nothing else. Milo is still his 'flawed but fascinating' self. Alex is still with Robin (boo) & Milo still with Rick (yay). Peripheral characters were interesting too, especially the rich horse-loving daughters who flee & another daughter who is key... Oops, I'd better not spoil it!

I saved this book to relish while I sat with a loved one in the hospital. Walking the halls was more entertaining. Sad. I love Kellerman's earlier books but this was just boring. Maybe next time?
