Description

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • In the heart of Trenton, New Jersey, Stephanie Plum tracks a killer who is out to make sure someone gets his just desserts.

“The most popular mystery writer alive.”—The New York Times

Larry Virgil skipped out on his latest court date after he was arrested for hijacking an eighteen-wheeler full of premium bourbon. Fortunately for bounty hunter Stephanie Plum, Larry is just stupid enough to attempt almost the exact same crime again. Only this time he flees the scene, leaving behind a freezer truck loaded with Bogart ice cream and a dead body—frozen solid and covered in chocolate and chopped pecans.

As fate would have it, Stephanie’s mentor and occasional employer, Ranger, needs her to go undercover at the Bogart factory to find out who’s putting their employees on ice and sabotaging the business. It’s going to be hard for Stephanie to keep her hands off all that ice cream, and even harder for her to keep her hands off Ranger. It’s also going to be hard to explain to Trenton’s hottest cop, Joe Morelli, why she is spending late nights with Ranger, late nights with Lula and Randy Briggs—who are naked and afraid—and late nights keeping tabs on Grandma Mazur and her new fella. Stephanie Plum has a lot on her plate, but for a girl who claims to have “virtually no marketable skills,” these are the kinds of sweet assignments she does best.

  • There are so many racist tropes in this, I could spit.

Janet seems to have leaned into her hatred of Lula, and escalated her racist commentary about the character. She describes Black criminals in her book in such a demeaning, hateful way, but not the White criminals. I can’t believe I wasted money on this. I’d give it 0 stars if I could.
  • Another Winner!!!

Once again , I loved it!! Many LOL moments!! Some people complain that they are the “same ole thing”!! That is what I like! That is why I have continued to read each book. Knowing it will be just another fun adventure with Stephanie and the gang! Keep them coming!!!!! Thanks, Chris 😀

This book follows in the path of the others. It's a fun and easy ride to remove yourself from the outside world.

This has got to be one of the worst Plum books written. Same O Same O . Except she out right cheats on Morelli and reasons it out. Go figure. Personally, Ranger isn't worth it. I was totally disappointed in the book. Now we are made to wait almost a year for the next one. That's bull. And if it is as bad as this one. I'm done.

I also have read the whole series and I actually thought this was one of the better ones. At least there are no giraffes wondering around Trenton. I know people complain about the sameness of her books these days, but that's what attracts a lot of readers. After a while you begin to feel like you know these characters . These books are not the "great American novel" but they are usually entertaining. This one was pretty entertaining!!
