When I started this book, I was a little disappointed at first because it didn’t immediately grab me, but I continued reading, and I’m so happy I did. I’ve read quite a few of Kristin Hannah’s books and have enjoyed every one of them, and The Great Alone is no exception. I’ve stayed up way too late the last few nights because I just couldn’t put it down. My heart broke for Leni and Cora and all that they went through. Without giving away any details, I loved the ending and even though Leni lost so much, she finally ended up where she belonged. Great book!

What a great read. Once into it, I hated putting the book down. The ups and downs kept me glued.

Such a beautiful story

Wow, I didn’t just read The Great Alone, I experienced it, a heart thumping ride, fantastic.

This story was easy to read, but predictable overall. The beauty of Alaska is captured, but there was a ton of stereotyping. For example, the batter woman of a POW and the young girl forced to watch her weak mother “love” her father. That just didn’t sit right with me. Then, the fact that this poor boy is literally wrecked due to an impulsive fall after trying to save these two ladies— the Tom Walker town hero and the father’s hate toward anyone with money. I could go on and on. Definitely not up to the same standard as the Nightingale, which I loved.

I loved it and learning about Alaska. A great read.

Loved it. Great setting, plot and characters. It provides insight into domestic abuse . Also hope for life after sorrow.

Impossible to put down. I couldn’t stop thinking about it until I finished it.

While not as good as the Nightingale in my opinion it’s still an incredible book. Takes some time to get into but WOW does she make you fall in love with the characters. Highly recommend
