Description

Oakley Spurlock is dying.

She only has weeks to live thanks to a freak infection that totally and completely destroyed her kidneys.

Despite her family’s desperation, not a single one of them is a match.

In a last-ditch attempt, Oakley’s father takes to social media to beg for help to save his daughter’s life.

Pace Vineyard is lost. So lost, in fact, that he’s not sure he wants to be found.

But then a beautiful woman’s face is splashed across social media, and Pace finds a spark in his soul for the first time since a bomb went off beside him.

He’s already missing two legs. What’s one more kidney?

At least, that’s what he tells himself.

What he doesn’t expect is to give his heart to the woman, too. Or for the woman to run away with it and force him to follow.

I love Lani Lynn Vale’s books however I feel there just isn’t enough detail in her latest books. One of the things I really liked when I first started reading her books was the stories behind the characters, you really got to know who they were and why they were that way. LLV is releasing books at a tremendous pace, I wouldn’t mind if she took a little longer to write books that have a little more depth to them.
  • Another hit!

This book seemed more on the emotional side, which I adored! I loved how these two were brought together by such terrible circumstances and yet they were still able to move forth with humor and love. I loved seeing Viddy and Trance again, loved how awesome they were, just like in their original story! Coupled with Lani Lynn Vales trademark humor and suspense, this is another hit for this author!

GET READY FOR SOME TISSUES AND TEARS! The best part of this series might just be that it’s the next generation of the children from the previous series’ and we all feel personally invested in these stories. Oakley’s story was so heartfelt and eye opening to transplants. After contracting complications from an illness, Oakley has no kidney function and needs a transplant but with no friends or family matching, she continues to search as she has time. But when time runs out, she is resigned to her fate of death. After losing his legs overseas and making best of his situation post recovery, Pace recognizes the girl that got him through his loss and decides to help save Oakley’s life. Instant attraction when the pair meets, they develop a friendship and bond through the transplant, which continues to grow into a relationship, as the pair can’t deny their feelings. Throwing in a crazy ex-supervisor of Pace’s in addition to his complicated family dynamic, and it’s a classic Lani Lynn Vale storyline that we can’t get enough of! I continue to love her storylines and style of writing and have resigned myself to making sure I can read the whole book in one sitting because I couldn’t put one of her books down even if I tried. Can’t wait for the next one! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
