Description

Easton:
Hockey isn’t forever.
The money, excitement, and glory of being a professional hockey player meant more to me than a family, a home, and a forever. Another man has my forever, and I have hockey. I thought making the big bucks and playing against the best in the world would feel better than this. Instead I’m empty and hollow, like a big piece of my heart was hacked off. There's something missing. Something big. Something I can never get back.
Caroline:
I loved him, but he wasn’t the love of my life.
My husband died too young, too suddenly, too tragically. I was unprepared with no education, no job skills, and no future plans. When a DNA test reveals my twins' true parentage, I have no choice but to do the right thing. I turn to the one man who’d turned his back on me all those years ago.
I'd been shutout from his life, and I'd shut him out from mine. Can two strangers make a family? Do we have what it takes to forgive and move on?

It was super sweet & sexy! I didn’t like that Caro was very controlling & then overnight, she changed her mind. However, totally worth the read!!

Gave three stars because of the over used f word. Sad story but ended with a good HEA. Did not care for Caro’s lack of common sense in trying to maintain total control of the children she shared with their biological father. Would like to see a book with Kaden and Julie. Very curious situation with Kaden that piqued my curiosity.

Book was ok, but Caro drove me crazy with her continuously pulling back and not trusting Easton. He just found out he has kids and wants to get to know them, what’s so bad about that? Had to skip over her rants, just got tired of reading about her complaints every other page

Good read although thought East was a little selfish yes he deserved to know about his kids but he didn’t want a relationship. I didn’t like that he wanted to change the kids name so quick. He they had just lost the only parent they known.

I love this story and how Jami brings this couple together. I also love how the book isn’t filled with a lot of explicit sex scenes. They can only be written so many ways as is. This author instead chooses to write about the characters and how they over come the differences and mistakes. Recommend this book. My understanding is this is the first of a new series or a first in a spin off series.

This is the first book in the spinoff series and the first book by this author I have read. I have to admit, I enjoyed the dynamics of this story. I wasn't sure at first how this would play out, but I feel the author handled the emotions and the nature of the storyline very well. Easton and Caro's story has a lot of sadness to it. They both have regrets, but they also have hopes and dreams. Will they be able to let go of what has happened and claim what they deserve?
