Description

Where do you go when life as you know it literally implodes, when everything you believed to be true is nothing more than an ugly lie?

Skylar Perillo has been living a perfectly ordinary life in an ordinary small town, but nothing is as it seems. No, her life isn’t ordinary, and it’s a far cry from perfect.

Leaving the one place she’s ever called home is the only way forward, but it’s like her mother used to say: The grass isn’t always greener.

When a job as a nanny literally comes to find Skylar, she has no choice but to take it, even if it means working for the seriously uptight grump who’s already gotten under her skin.

But those old pearls of wisdom do ring true, because when it comes to Leo Hale, Skylar’s going to learn that you can’t judge a book by its cover, and that it really is darkest before the dawn.

I really enjoyed this book so much. I couldn’t put it down. It was so realistic to imagine happening.

A truly great follow up to the first book in the series. Leo and Skylar’s love story has one of my favorite storylines...hot single dad and the nanny. But this is deep, emotional and really satisfying because the characters are so well developed and real. I hope Skylar’s twin sister gets her own story because I love her husband, Garth. Looking forward to the next book in this series that is fantastic so far.

I enjoyed the read. Finished it in one setting, slow burn was good and the spicy scenes kept it pretty modest. But overall the plot was great and in a way realistic.

I’m so glad I took a chance on this one. It was really good. I could really relate to Skylar and her struggles. And everyone would be lucky to fall in love with a man like Leo.

A very heartfelt turn on the “single dad falls for the nanny” theme. I was rooting so hard for Skylar and Leo.

I’m so disappointed when I read most romances lately. So predictable, so ridiculous. And it’s not like I’m looking for something outrageously perfect. I just don’t want to roll my eyes every ten seconds. Having said that, I LOVE this author’s books. They are whip smart, well written and realistic. I got lost in this book and loved the characters. Can’t wait for the next one in the series.

Really cute book. Felt a little rushed in some spots, skipping parts where it would have added more context, but overall a good story.
  • I loved the story of Skyler and Leo but…

…my only complaint is a small one. I would have given this author 5 stars if the editing had been better. There were far too many spots where spellcheck worked but left odd (correctly spelled) words that didn’t make sense and extra words and repeated words that were missed in editing. It’s like stubbing your toe during a really great walk. I was jerked back to reality with these mistakes instead of being allowed to be totally involved in the story. That said, I will read the author again because of her good character development, sweet plot, and good story.
