Take a nice, kind of messed up couple, who find each other, have hot sex, and work out their baggage…..with one really messed up family thrown in for good measure kind of book to enjoy. I really enjoyed the development of this couple with a little suspense and lots of steam. As always you can’t go wrong with a LLV book!

Zach and Crockett’s story was so good. Here you have these two people that are avoiding each other but really want each other with the same intensity. They are entertaining while giving you all the butterflies. 🦋 When they finally give in and take a chance they are quite beautiful together. Zach and Crockett support each other in the best ways. 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hot Broody Alpha Guy Warning!! Seems like we’ve been waiting or this story forever. Zack Caruso takes one look at Crockett and is in love but doesn’t feel like he’s good enough for her. “I’ve spent the better part of six months trying to stay away from you,” he told me. “The first day that I got out of prison and saw you? I wanted to claim you right then and there. “I decided that I didn’t care anymore,” he told me. “I decided that I would make you forget that I’m a bad person.” Crockett is the awesome hamburger lady. Her life has been anything but great. People sit around on their phones, but when I pull out a book, I’m the one that’s anti-social. -Zach to Crockett I can not get enough of this series. Dark and crazy good. It’s a slow burn but once they get together sparks fly. Laric is next he’s another one I’ve been waiting for.

This is Zach's story and I have been waiting a long time for his story. In this story we meet him 6 months before the book really begins. Its the day he meets Crockett, and her grandfather and also the day he gets out of prison thanks to Mayor Lynn. The book then starts 6 months later and he is now settled down working for Lynn, working on his car, and living life. He also still visits Crockett at her store/restaurant/deli. In this story we are introduced to some new characters. Murphy is Crocketts grandfather, Danny and Nora are her brother and sister, Belinda her sister in law and Six who is married to Lynn is her best friend. She also has a spineless father, a horrible stepmom, Melody and Rockett is her evil half sister. This was a slow burn romance, very slow burn. C and Z don't actually even kiss until about 50% in to the story. One reason is that Z friend zones Crockett and while he is into her, he also thinks she is too good for him. I loved that up to now Murphy has been the only one fighting for Crockett but after Zach enters her life, he fights for her in absolutely every way. Crockett's family is awful to her So I loved seeing her interact with Zach's family and with the group from Kilgore. And I loved that they followed her home and defended her there as well. This was a heavy drama book but not between Crockett or with Zach. There is a little girl in a bad situation, a spoiled princess of a half sister and an evil father and step mom. This was a was a light read and one I highly enjoyed once it got going. Z and C were pretty awesome together as a couple!
