    Wow, absolutely couldn't put this book down. It was so well written with an intriguing storyline and amazing characters. Touching plot that is scary and happens in real life all the time. Both characters experienced family drama that they have to work through and realize they are not like their families. Archer is the new officer for the Laurel Springs Police Department. Alisa is a nurse at Laurel Springs Medical and left Calvert City because of some trouble. I don't want to give anything away but I will say the author writes with passion, truth and always puts her heart and soul in her work.

    Enjoying the continuation of this series! I love that Laramie is starting to introduce new characters in this series while also giving us familiar faces from the past series and characters from there. This installment focuses on two new characters, Alisa and Archer, who have both relocated to town for their jobs and a slower pace of life. Alisa comes to town after being run out of the last one due to corrupt cops and police brutality, and while she typically turns Archer down, after he is hurt on the job, she gives him a chance and also realizes that he and his department are not like the ones from her old town. As this couple gets to know each other and establish their relationship, we see them both work to take down the corruption that Alisa had uncovered when it ends up following her to town. I loved how strongly Archer felt about Alisa and how both of them continued to stand up for the other against their respective parents, and I can’t wait to see who comes next in this series! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
