Description

For 48 hours, they were married. But that was a long time ago.

Seventeen years ago, Maddie Christopher told one little white lie, and it has been wreaking havoc on her life ever since. At the time, the lie was worth it—it meant she got to marry the man she loved, however brief a marriage it was—but now she's ready to finally move on. But in order to do that, she needs to find the man whose heart she broke all those years ago and finally apologize.

Knox Channing has everything he could have asked for in life—after a career in the Navy SEALs, he's now running a thriving security firm with his two best friends. The only thing that would make it better is if he wasn't the lone single guy in his friend group. But after having had his heart broken once, he's not looking to go back there. Or at least that's what he thought before Maddie showed up in his office.

He swore that he would never let himself fall for anyone again, much less for the woman who once broke his heart. But sometimes you fall in love with the most unexpected person at the most unexpected time. Twice.

Absolutely FABTABULOUS!!!! I LOVED every book in this series, but, right at this particular moment, I think Ms. Samantha Chase save the best book for “last?”!!??!! When I found out that Knox was finally getting his book, I could not wait for it to hit my tablet. And when it did, I could not stop reading. Indeed, another all-nighter… Good thing I was off the next day. But I digress, you want to know what I think about this book. Let me start off on a sour note… I hate Maddie’s father!! I do not mean your normal dislike of a person, but freaking HATE with a passion kind of hate. Sorry ladies, I cannot tell you why I hate this character so much, you will have to purchase read this phenomenal book for yourself to find out why. The I Do Over is the 6th book in Ms. Chase’s Meet Me at the Altar series. And, yet again, Ms. Chase has proven yet AGAIN, she can write romance. This is one of those ‘2nd chance at love’ stories that you just keep cheering and cheering on the couple. You just want them to get around all of the obstacles in their way. Knox and Maddie loved each other 17 years ago. They loved each other enough to run off and marry. But, one small detail, one small lie, enabled this marriage to be “put asunder”, breaking Maddie and Knox’s hearts. Will one little postcard bring them back together??? What?? Postcard (maniacal grin on my face)??? I wonder who sent that postcard??? Sorry Ladies, you really do have to read this wonderful book. I was gifted with a copy of this book because of my absolute LOVE of reading romance, but also for my opinions of this freaking fantastic book. Thank you for reading my review. So, what are you waiting for? Go hit that purchase button from your favorite retailer right now. You will not be disappointed in my opinion. You will be quite happy you did!! Happy reading!! I loved this book sooo much, I already pre-ordered the audio!!

I absolutely loved The I Do Over! Samantha Chase has once again delivered another wonderful romance in The I Do Over, the sixth book in her Meet Me at the Altar series. I love that Samantha Chase continues to write the books that I LOVE to read. Samantha Chase has once again provided her readers with amazing characters. Each book in this series keeps getting better, but I think that The I Do Over is my favorite, because Maddie and Knox faced challenges with their love story. I love how all the characters in The I Do Over feel like best friends! Who does not love hot sexy men, strong, passionate females, and loving friends, who always support one another? I love how Samantha Chase somehow, she manages to find the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong woman on her own, to balance out the sexy man. Samantha Chase continues to deliver all that and so much more. I really enjoyed The I Do Over and am so happy that Samantha Chase decided to write more books in the Meet Me at the Altar series The I Do Over was bittersweet for me, because it is the last book in the Meet Me at the Altar series. Samantha Chase has once again shown that she is an amazing storyteller. The I Do Over did not disappoint; I can truly say, that The I Do Over is an incredible love story, which filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions I could not put it down and loved every moment on every page. One of my favorite parts is how Samantha Chase incorporated the title of the book into the love story. I enjoy how Samantha Chase writes from the perspective of the main characters. That way you get to know what is going on in each of their minds. The I Do Over is a wonderful love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. My favorite moments in The I Do Over are the lighter moments where I found myself smiling and laughing out loud. I also love the parts that pull at my heartstrings and cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. The I Do Over be filled with such moments, and with so much more. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a Samantha Chase love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Who does not love a second chance love story? The I Do Over is the story of Madalyn “Maddie” Christopher, physical therapist and Knox Channing, retired Navy SEAL and co-owner of SEAL Security. Maddie and Knox were high school sweethearts who eloped when they were teenagers. When confronted by Maddie’s parents she lies about what really happened and the marriage is annulled. Since the ending of his marriage, Knox gave himself a three-date rule. Maddie and Knox have not seen each other in seventeen years. Maddie shows up at SEAL Security to apologize to Knox for not sticking up for him so that she can finally move on with her life. Maddie was inspired to reach out to Knox by a question posed by her mother during one of her confused moments, “When are you and that nice husband of yours going to have babies?” Things quickly change between Maddie and Knox, and they decide to give long distance dating a try, but they faced a lot of challenges along the way. Maddie’s mother has Alzheimer’s, and her health creates challengers for Maddie and Knox. Conversation between Maddie and Knox flows so easily As Maddie and Knox continue to spend time together, their feelings for each other rekindle. A surprise plot twist happens, and this changes everything between them. I love the surprise gift that Knox’s parents give him. I love Maddie’s conversations with her mother during her lucid moments and the heart-to-heart conversation when Knox confronts Maddie about how he really felt about the dissolution of their last marriage. I love the chemistry between Maddie and Knox. I love how Maddie stands up for herself with her father. My favorite part of the book are the love quotes that begin each chapter. Another favorite part is the epilogue and how it went above and beyond a happily ever after. I love Maddie’s new relationship with Josie, Lea, Skye, and Daisy, and Knox’s relationship with, Daniel, and Xander, it feels like a real friendship, and I love how they always love, support, and have each other’s backs. I enjoyed catching up with Josie, Lea, Skye, and Daisy it felt like a get together with best friends, but it is bittersweet to say good-by to them. I love everything that Maddie and Knox are willing to do to have a relationship with each other. The I Do Over contains all the things that I have come to love most and expect in a Samantha Chase story, romance, great characters and setting, bittersweet moments, surprises, and the plot twist that ties it all together. Amazing story. I could not put it down. Highly recommend this wonderful second chance romance.

Maddie Christopher told one “little lie” when she was seventeen years old. It altered her life forever, as well as, Knox Channing’s life and future for over 15 years. Maddie finished college and opened her own sports therapy clinic that was thriving. Knox, finally, retired from the Navy Seals and co-owned a security firm with his two ex-Seal buddies. Each were successful in their lives but something seemed missing in Maddie and Knox’s lives. Both of them could not forget the “little lie” that altered of their past and closure was needed for any future to move on. This is a beautifully written story of young love lost, finding trust, having many emotional encounters, finding and accepting forgiveness, plus recognizing family dynamics for what they entail. Second chances are difficult happen but giving it a try, may change your world. Fantastic book for the ending of the series.
  • Emotional second-chance winner

Four and a half stars The I-Do Over by Samantha Chase is the sixth in Meet Me At the Altar series, set in Raleigh, North Carolina. Maddie Christopher and Knox Channing were married for a hot minute more than a decade ago, but haven’t laid eyes on each other since they split in a fiery confrontation with Maddie’s parents. When Maddie finally approaches Knox to apologize for her role in their breakup, it is just the nudge they need to reconsider their relationship. Samantha Chase does a terrific job with Maddie and Knox. It’s clear their chemistry and affection are as strong as ever but they also need to confront the very real challenges that come up in relationships, such as the reality that they don’t exist in a vacuum. Ms Chase balances the positives and negatives of that truth, as Knox and Maddie deal with well meaning and also hurtful interference from family and friends. The I-Do Over is an emotional second-chance story, and a fantastic addition to the series.

Love and romance abound in this second chance romance. Knox and Maddie are absolutely adorable and fun and sexy. I love a story that keeps a smile on my face. My favorite part was Maddie finally telling her father off, it should have happened a while back. But I was rejoicing in that moment.
  • Knox and Maddie

Knox and Maddie are not only my favorite couple of the series, but The I Do Over is my favorite book! This second chance romance hit all my buttons…more understanding and conversation than anger and recriminations. Not that Knox isn’t hurt about the way Maddie let their very short teenage end, but he’s very respectful. After all, those feelings never disappeared…for either one of them. While Maddie hopes that seeing Knox again and clearing the air will help her move on, it’s easy to see that they both wonder where they’d be if only Maddie was brave enough to fight for them all those years ago. This clean romance was a bit spicier than the previous books…and I was all for that! Or maybe I just saw more chemistry in these characters? Either way, I was turning pages and falling in love with Knox as much as Maddie was. And can we talk villains and annoyances for a minute. Maddie’s father wins the evil mustache twirler award, but Josie, wife of Knox’s partner, wedding planner and former MC was an annoying and nosey little gnat for me. I applauded when Knox respectfully but clearly deflected her pushing for information that was none of her business. Yeah, not a Josie fan…lol. Sad that the series is over but thrilled that it ended on a high note. Great job, Samantha Chase.
