This book has been in my library for years and I re-read it often. It is a wonderfully fast read and a great reminder of how to successfully engage with people. This book has helped me successfully lead hundreds of Airmen, peacefully work with classmates, and get the best out of coworkers.

I found this book a tremendous follow up to reading Carnegie's how to win friends and influence everyone. This great little guide offers the universal principles of communicating with people. I believe the book is so compact and to the point that every word on every page matters. I honestly think that this is an awesome book if you want to have a good impression in front of others, make friends and influence people. Best book I have read so far on building and keeping relations.

This book shouldn’t really be a book. It passes off a bunch of opinions as facts and does little by way of supporting those opinions with the questions of why. For instance, when the author says “As long as you live, never forget that any fool can disagree with people”… Why is anyone who disagree’s with you suddenly a fool? Disagreement can take courage. Why is being agreeable always the correct way to be? Also “It is a key of life for you to realize that people are primarily interested in themselves and not in you”… Why? In what context? Who made the judgement call on that? Can you difinitively state that is 100% always the case? Why should you tell someone that this is a key of life? Who’s bar for success are you measuring against? Who says you define what success is? Using wording like “manuever people into” comes across as manipulative. Why would you advocate to manipulate people as a life strategy? These are the red flag questions and issues I have with spending about 10 minutes with this book.
