Description

From #1 bestselling mystery and suspense author Blake Pierce comes a gripping new series: May Moore, 29, an average Midwestern woman and deputy sheriff, has always lived in the shadow of her older, brilliant FBI agent sister. Yet the sisters are united by the cold case of their missing younger sister—and when a new serial killer strikes in May’s quiet, Minnesota lakeside town, it is May’s turn to prove herself, to try to outshine her sister and the FBI, and, in this action-packed thriller, to outwit and hunt down a diabolical killer before he strikes again.

“A masterpiece of thriller and mystery.”

A body is found floating peacefully in the lake in May’s hometown, and soon, more begin to appear. This body seems too peaceful, the murder too eerily calm.

Can May enter this killer’s mind and crack the case before he claims his next victim?

A page-turning and harrowing crime thriller featuring a brilliant and tortured Deputy Sheriff, the MAY MOORE series is a riveting mystery, packed with non-stop action, suspense, jaw-dropping twists, and driven by a breakneck pace that will keep you flipping pages late into the night.

The next book in this series is dated too far away!!! I will have too delve into Pierce’s other book series’ in the meantime🤗

This was more of a slow burn of a story and I’m a little disappointed in the ending. It was just very predictable which is unusual for Blake Pierce
  • May rocks!

I really like the characters Deputy Sheriff May Moore, Deputy Owen, and Sheriff Jack. They are a strong team. As for May’s sister and parents? I’m so ready for them to have a mirror shown in their direction. Their behavior toward and treatment of May is unbearable. Otherwise, nice series.

So hooked on this series! Between the sister dynamic between May and Kerry along with the mystery of their missing sister Lauren, I am dying to know what happened! In this installment we see May start to struggle with figuring out her current case and finding the killer, but when she does, she gets into her usual predicament of fending them off by herself. I feel like I live for the end of the book where we get a little snippet of Lauren’s disappearance and the potential of a break in her case, and I find that I like that more than the actual mystery of the book itself – this cliffhanger about Lauren’s case was probably the best because we find out that not only is there someone to go after, it also looks like Lauren was targeted in the first place. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
