Description

This player’s got a lot to learn if he wants to score . . . with the boss’s daughter.

“Nicole Edwards sure does know how to write the bad boys of sports!”—L. P. Dover

Stone: Football is more than a game to me. It’s my calling. Becoming the Dallas Wranglers’ starting quarterback before I retire is a dream come true, but with a few wins under my belt, suddenly everyone wants a piece of me. And even though being in the spotlight has its perks—beautiful women, star treatment, more beautiful women—what really gets me sweating is the watchful gaze of my sexy-as-hell PR coach, Savannah Andrews. The catch? Her father is kind of my boss. . . .

Savannah: In my family, football is big business. When your dad owns an NFL franchise, you learn a thing or two about schmoozing, and from what I can tell, it’s not a skill in Jason Stone’s playbook. Sure, the veteran quarterback is literally larger than life. With broad shoulders, muscles on muscles, and a mouth made for kissing, he may be one of the hottest men in the league—and I should know. I’ve turned down enough players to start my own all-star team. But those guys just wanted to get close to my father. Meanwhile, Stone is getting temptingly close . . . to me.

This is the second book in The Bad Boy of Sports series and I enjoyed this one just as much as I did the first book in this series. It is fun, sexy and flirty and it has great dialogue and dynamics between the characters. I loved all of the funny banter and quips between the characters. This is a refreshing story with an engaging storyline about a sexy football player at the end of his career. Jason Stone is a thirty five year old quarterback brought in to help the Dallas Wranglers win the Super Bowl. Jason knows most of the women he meets are only interested in him for his money and status. So he sticks to one night stands. His life consists of women, booze and parties. He doesn’t take himself too seriously and is witty, charming and confident. Savannah Andrews father owns the Dallas Wranglers. She is the Executive Vice President and Chief Public Relations Officer. Savannah is not impressed with Jason when she meets him because she has been around football players all her life. Savanna takes Jason by surprise when she treats him like a regular guy and he he likes it. When Jason and Savanna meet they immediately connect but they are both careful with their hearts. Savannah and Jason have explosive sexual chemistry and they are good for each other and great together. Jason likes Savannah because she is genuine and likes him for himself. Jason is a good guy. He likes Savannah and always treats her well. I loved this story and the characters. Thanks to the author for providing a copy of this book vIa Cocktails and Books and Netgalley. The opinions expressed are my own.

Don't let the title of the series fool you. I've been pleasantly surprised to find that the Bad Boys of Sports are actually really good guys and I love it! Jason Stone may have been a player in the start of his career, but he's been around the block long enough to know when a woman wants him for his money and fame. And he wants nothing to do with that. When he meets Savannah for the first time, he finds it refreshing that she isn't impressed by who he is. Savannah has grown up in the business since her father owns the Dallas Wranglers. When she feels obligated to attend a celebration over the teams win, she catches the eye of Jason Stone. She isn't normally tempted by the players but there is just something about Jason that keeps drawing her eye. I loved these two together. There is usually a characteristic about one or both of the MC's I don't like but I can't say that about Jason or Savannah. They were mature and treated the budding relationship in a mature manner. When Jason could have turned against Savannah for something that she had to do, he didn't. I love the fact that the author kept this interesting without taking the excess drama route. If you love sports romance, I highly recommend this series. ARC provided by NetGalley.
