Description

From USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR Claudia Burgoa comes this billionaire workplace accidental pregnancy romance that’ll leave readers laughing and swooning!

What happens when you break the cardinal rule?

I’m good at following rules.
Like, don’t sleep with your hot employees. That’s a good rule.
At least I was until that night. I blame the champagne and the tuxedo he wore.

There are several reasons why I shouldn’t be attracted to Elliot McPhee.
He’s emotionally unavailable.
He’s in his mid-forties—too old for me.
He’s my employee.
He’s jaded after a disastrous divorce.
He’s leaving soon.
But he has gray eyes, and a deep velvety voice…did I mention he looks like Joshua Jackson?
I can’t resist.
It’s just a one-night stand before he leaves.
Except, things get complicated.
We’re talking two bright pink lines complicated.
Did I mention he has no desire to commit?
So, we agree not to try.
Except, we can’t keep our hands off each other.
Then I find out he’s not who I thought.
He’s so wrong for me. So why do I still want to create a family with him?

Along Came You is a forbidden age gap romance involving a secret billionaire and an accidental baby. Get ready to laugh, swoon, and be seduced by sexy billionaires willing to please their women!

This is the first book I’ve read of Claudia’s. The front cover is what sold me. This book is so dreamy. Elliott and Fern are amazing. I never wanted to put this book down. Have you ever read a book and you were like I don’t need to go to work, feed the kids or talk to anyone ever again because the book is so good, well this one is it. I can’t wait to read everyone of her books. 😁😁😁.

Fern Spearman is younger than the triplets but also the next oldest. When her father died she became a mom to her siblings and the triplets acted like a dad to the younger siblings. Her mom checked out for awhile and this is a big part of the story in that the mom is angry with Fern in many scenes, because Fern is still taking care of the siblings. As this story begins its runs alongside the first two books in the series then it goes beyond those books. The story starts out one day when Elliott (who is 40 something) meets 32 year old Fern on a bad day for her. She runs her families foundation and has a huge project to build homes for low income families but no construction company. Elliott volunteers his help for free and so starts a beautiful friendship and work relationship. As the book progresses it skips ahead and Elliott and Fern have been working together for 7 months and Elliott has become a very close family friend who she also works with and who has become close to her whole family. I loved watching Keaton and Maia as they tease Fern about the crush she has on Elliott. ---- Sidenote: At some point we discover that Hazel is Elliott's ex and I could not figure out where I knew that name from, turns out Elliott, Hazel and Scott Everhart are part of the author's Everhart series. Elliott is in a love triangle in that book Perfect for Me (claudiayburgoa.com). I highly suggest you read that book before this one to get a previous history about Elliott for this book. Note: I have not read this book but I couldn't figure out how I knew Elliott and it drove me a bit crazy. ---- Elliott is a very complicated character in this story. He is a billionaire in hiding I guess you can say. He keeps people at a distance and his past is shall we say complicated. This book has a lot of angyst as he desires Fern but he feels he is too complicated, hides too much and is too old for her. But the reality is that Fern is more mature than him, she faces life head on but is also distant from her family and friends though she hides it well. She has been hurt and yet she is brave at going after the things in the world she wants. Elliott can learn a lot from Fern. My favorite part is in the book when Elliott finally lets go and he tries so hard to stay away but simply cannot. This book is told in dual points of view but lasts about a year, sometimes skipping weeks and months. It is an awesome second chance at love story with characters who are very complicated and fight their feelings very hard. The age gap was this big point in the story but honestly I don't think 32 and 40 something was a big deal at those ages. I wish the author had been more specific about Elliott's age since he thought about it a lot. I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wow this was a very great story of Elliot McPhee and Fern Spearman. Elliot had a bad marriage and was quite down on life until he meets Fern and life gets better for both of them . This is such a heartwarming story and I highly recommend this book .
  • Cute and fluffy workplace romance 🫠

I haven't read a fluffy romance in a while so this was amazing to read after so long. It was a funny experience though because I'm so used to reading romance in the darker side so I was waiting for the crazy stuff to happen LOL I enjoyed their dynamic so much. It was on the quick side although it did take them moser than a year to actually give in to their feelings for each other. I also found it refreshing to find out that Elliot had a past that I haven’t seen used a lot recently. Their relationship with whatever they did as very open from the beginning. Elliot was very open with helping her with the foundation and donating his time. In this one, Fern was the one who was reluctant to open up to the possibility of being together. Getting pregnant was probably what pushed her into it but even then she was fine with being a single mom. Elliot was the one who convinced her they were a team and that he was gonna make an effort to show her just as much. WHAT TO EXPECT: ~ strangers to friends to lovers ~ surprise bab(ies) ~ overprotective brothers ~ simping hero ~ workplace romance ~ secret billionaire

Elliot is a hot mess, hiding a secret. Claudia created a very complex character in Elliot. It so could have gone sideways. But she also created Fern, a strong female counterpart to Elliot. Plenty of steam and complications. Recommend.

I love this absolutely unexpected series crossover!! Elliot and Fern definitely needed the love they brought to each other. This series is angsty but this book brought some surprises. These siblings and this family are the best but the amount of support they have for each other was just next level in this one. I am already counting down to the next Paradise Bay story and it can’t come soon enough!

So, if you’re a long time reader of Claudia Burgoa’s books, you’ve met Elliot in Perfect for Me, the third book in the Everhart Brothers series. I myself had forgotten that and was wracking my brain trying to figure out the connections within this great big overlapping world the author has created. I think this might have helped in my enjoyment of Elliott and Fern’s story, because it can be hard to tell the love story of a guy who might need a little “redemption”. I liked Elliot and Fern, I think because their story is kind of a flip on the whole boss/employee trope. While Fern isn’t his boss, per say, Elliot definitely follows her lead in the assistance he gives her and the foundation she runs. Even though Fern. justifies this dynamic as something to keep her from becoming romantically involved with Elliot, it definitely doesn’t stop the close relationship they have, which he fosters because she intrigues him so much. But he can’t commit to anything deep. Yeah, we’ve heard that story before, Elliot! Overall, I think was a great addition to the Paradise Bay series. The inclusion of so many secondary characters plus the fact that Elliot was part of a triangle in another book may confuse some readers, but it can very much be read as a stand-alone story. Honestly, I discovered Ms. Burgoa by coming into a series midway, and it just made me more interested to read the books I missed. Maybe new readers will feel the same. I hope so, because she’s absolutely a must-read author for this voracious romance reader.

Claudia Burgoa has done it again! I absolutely loved Along Came You; it is an incredible love at first sight love story. It is the third book in her Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers series. Along Came You is my favorite in the series and I am looking forward to reading the remaining books in the series. Claudia Burgoa shows that she is an amazing storyteller and has once again provided her readers with amazing characters. I love all the characters in Along Came You, they feel like family! Along Came You filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, I could not put it down, and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I love how Claudia Burgoa always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy men. I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud. My favorite moments are the ones that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. Along Came You is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments that I have come to love and expect in Claudia Burgoa love story, and she did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Along Came You is a love at first sight love story between Fern Spearman, who runs the JS Foundation and Elliott McPhee, owner of North Bay Construction. Fern and Elliott meet in a local coffee shop. Elliot invites Fern to sit with him. Fern complains to Elliott about how North Bay Construction backed out of her Brentwood Harbor project, unbeknownst to Fern that Elliott owns North Bay Construction. Elliott does not reveal his real identity or net worth to Fern and volunteers to head the project in Brentwood Harbor, a low-income housing plan. As Fern and Elliott work together on the Brentwood Harbor project they begin a romantic relationship. As they spend more time together, things begin to change between them. Elliott never stays in any one place long, so he is anticipating leaving following his time with the Brentwood Harbor project. They share secrets that they have not revealed to each other before. I love the chemistry between Elliott and Fern. I love that both Elliott and Fern were both so vulnerable and that each of them changes because of their love for one another. I love how they share things that they have never shared before, especially the secrets that Fern shares about her life after the vineyard burned and her father died and Elliott shares regarding his relationship with his ex-wife, the accident that he feels responsible for that killed his mother, sister, and nieces and how he has no interest in marrying again. I love all the things that Elliott has secretly does for Fern and her Brentwood Harbor project, but he does not reveal that he is behind everything. A surprise plot twist changes things between them, which included a heartbreaking statement from Elliott. I love the surprise, and Elliott’s reaction to the surprise. I love how everything gets so beautifully resolved between them. I loved Elliott’s proposal, and how it was unexpected. I also love how the epilogue went above and beyond a happily ever after. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Along Came You, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between the Spearman family, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between the Spearman siblings especially their teasing that made me laugh. I loved all the characters in Along Came You, and I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Along Came You, who does not love a love at first sight love story? Highly recommend this incredible love story and am so looking forward to reading the other books in the series

I adore the Spearman family - their banter, family dinners and they way they fiercely protect one another. Fern is a strong, independent and amazing woman. She has a heart of gold but needs to take a breath and enjoy life instead of working all the time. Her relationship with her siblings is amazing but her mom is not kind, especially to Fern. Elliot is a voyager because he doses’t want to get attached and have to stay in once place - if so, he may have to deal with his feelings. He’s a great guy, has a heart of gold but doesn’t want his identity known. Fern and Elliot’s initial meeting turns into a wonderful friendship and so much more. I love the strength of these two characters, their passion to do the right thing and their drive to help others. Also, when they finally give into their feelings and are not afraid of the future it becomes a beautiful love story. Another fabulous book from Claudia! I received a complimentary copy and I am leaving my honest review.
